[AS] is doomed

ok, I didn't mind the live action movies since I felt atleast adult swim would atleast keep in tact. I was hoping the [crappy 1980's live action show network] was a sign it was a joke. But nooo, its 12:16 and guess what I am watching.

EVILNess 04-17-2006 11:25 PM

I haven't watched AS in a while, due mainly to the fact that I have found other ways to scratch my anime itch, so I didn't quite get what you were talking about.

...

Then I looked on TVGuide. I am so sorry man. Screech never belonged on CN or AS. Of course neither does Jim Carrey.

I'd rather them play that Chuck Norris cartoon. At least that was funny. (THATS ANOTHER TOPIC)

Honestly, CN as a whole has become an insult to me. Been all downhill since they stopped showing the old Warner and Hanna Barbara cartoons.

And no I refuse to pay $10 more a month to get boomerang.(Although it would be kinda cool to watch SWAT Kats again.)

They are showing Saved by the Bell for the following reasons:
  1. It's really funny
  2. They want people to sign up on the ASMB to complain
  3. BECAUSE THEY CAN!

Seriously, it's just a really funny thing to do. It's ten times more funny then their lame April Fools joke.

EVILNess 04-17-2006 11:38 PM

I dunno, I thought the farts jokes were pretty funny.

And we all know, you can't top a good fart joke.

[AS] may be the only TV I get to watch. I turn it on during my daily 2 AM study sessions. A few years ago, they liked to brag about their audience pool being young and intelligent. Then they started making these glorified flash cartoons and intellectually insulting shows like 12 Ounce Mouse, Squidbillies and Tom Goes to the Mayor; it seemed like a slap in the face to their viewers to try to pass off that kind of crap with a straight face.

Saved by the Bell...

Jeeze. 1980s teen sitcoms. I thought I got enough of that vibe on the goddamn Disney Channel.

Can someone shoot me?

CallmePrismatic 04-18-2006 07:32 AM

You all DO realize that it's only going to be shown for a week or so (the "eight best episodes of all time" according to them). AND that you have the power to watch something else at Midnight, correct?

It's like the cartoon version of angry mothers demonizing Howard Stern. It's not permanent and you aren't forced to watch it either way, so save your complaining for 12 Oz Mouse and Squidbillies (I happen to like TGttM).

In the mean-time, why not enhance your SBtB experience with some extracurricular reading.

Rule #1 of Swim Club:
Never talk about 12. Oz. Mouse. So horrible.

The two weeks of Saved By The Bell is a joke, and most likely a commentary on CN's fairly recent decisions to play live action movies, ones that have nothing to do with cartoons. And it's a great joke too, up there with Trey Parker's and Matt Stone's april fool's Day Joke where they postponed part two of "Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut to show the half hour Terrance And Phillip show (when they said they would air the continuation to the "Dirty Slut" episode). ... Not many people got that joke, either.

Also, 12 Oz. Mouse is an awesome show, it's just hard to see that in 11 minute bursts. It works very well when watched back to back. It's almost like Dadaistic animation. But it takes more than an episode or two to get into it.

Besides, they're just biding thier time until all the new series and seasons they've ordered arrive.

I remember the main reason I used to watch SBtB was because the girls were hot. But now its many years later and I have internet and softcore cable porn. Thus it just doesn't hold my attenion anymore.

I also thought it was just a joke to poke fun at live action movies CN has been showing...untill I found myself watching it
