"I see that the legacy of SG-6's bad luck is well earned." Dex scratched the back of his head for a moment, the rock pile they sat behind was pitiful, it had no strategic worth nor was it worth defending. Were they to try to move up and over the rolling hill to get away they would be spotted by whatever search parties were looking for the servant. And if they tried to leave the way they came the path would assuredly be covered by jaffa. WIth all the search parties around and the impending distraction of the bomb the only place the jaffa wouldn't look would be...
"Suggoku ii...." Dex said with a smile, "This is going to sound stupid but we're headed that way." Dex motioned towards the camp with his head as he readied his P90. "I'll take point with braniac right behind me, Kat you keep a good eye on him," The servant smiled as his protectors spoke, "Shoot him if he does anything suspicious." The servant had panic streaked over his face before he tried to turn tail and run only to have Dex grab his shoulder and pull him down to the ground. "Or if he tries to run. Chester, you're on clean-up." "Now let's g- Down." Dex dropped to the floor waving everyone down as well. He had just caught sight of a jaffa in the forest, though the jaffa was quite oblivious. So they lied there just behind the rocks, "New plan, we hide here till that search party moves on, if they spot us, rush the forest." Dex turned to Kat with an evil smile, "You'll still be on servant killing duty." As the servant tried to scramble away dex just pushed his face into the ground, maybe next time he would choose a better place to hide. |
James and benny came in sight of the next bomb placement spot. "Alright. Let's place the bomb, and let's get out of here. I just have this terrible, sinking feeling like we're all going down no matter what we do. Oh well. Wouldn't be the first time."
James got out the next bomb. "Keep an eye out for me Benny." |
Thankfully for Dex, they would have to wait long. Benny did keep an eye out. He waited, and waited a bit more. Nothing. At long last, their bomb was ready.
They sprinted away, sprinting perpendicular from the Jaffa camp. Then it went off. There was a very loud snapping noise, and EM radiation spilled out from it. To the Jaffa, it would seem like an incoming Tau'Ri army, and they spilled out heading towards the explosion. James said it best. "Cool. Now, we don't have a radio. Let's go around the army and go to the others. And..damn that was cool." |
As the thunderous explosion bellowed over them Dex watched the Jaffa as carefully as he could. Everyone of them that he saw started sprinting towards the explosion, Dex had never smiled so widely in his life. "Alright everyone we're moving." Dex pulled himself and the servant to their feet before handing the servant over to Kat, "You watch him, chesty your on watching the back and I still have point. Lets get the transport, the rest of our team and then the hell out of here."
Dex started sprinting down the path with his P90 at his waist, maybe, just maybe, we'll live through this. |
"Chesty?" Chester muttered. "Couldn't you of come up with a better name."
Waiting until everyone else was moving, Chester brought up the rear, his zat still in hand. |
The trip was a harsh run, not made any easier by Benny's tripping and the fact James said "Damn, That was cool!" like some noob pyrotechnician. Everyone knew demolitions experts merelly smiled, and if they had to say something, added the F-word to it.
The Jaffa were either on their trail, or almost about to be on their trail, so it was in their best interests to cover as much ground as possible without being a moving target. Even James, who enjoyed carrying as much explosives as possible, was wishing he'd brought a lighter pack. |
Benny was sprinting along quite happilly, and then he had an incredibly crazy idea.
"Hey, why don't we go wide, then go in behind them, and catch up with the others?" *** Unfortunately for the others, it was then they were seen. A fusilade of staff fire cut Chester off from the others, and forced them to opposing cover. In this case, a hill and a rock. With the huge rain of gunfire, it didn't look like there was any way to get Chester back over to the group. |
"Hey! Why don't we just stand still and wave our arms, paint ourselves red and white, and hold up a 'shoot me!' sign?" James asked sarcastically. "Unless you see a perfectly good reason for why we should change our direction, I suggest you keep it mum. I mean, they don't need our help, and as long as we run fast enough, we don't need theirs."
'I mean, I suppose if like, I dunno, one of the other guys was pinned down and surrounded, then I'd be willing to veer off course, but then, and only then will we!" James said as he ran. "Besides, they're probably already at the Gate!" |
Chester dived behind cover as the cascade of staff weapon fire screamed around him.
"Crap!" he shouted. He put the zat away and unslung his P90 from his shoulder...after all, it appeared that stealth was no longer needed. "Crapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrap!" He peaked up over the rock he was hiding behind, only to have to duck down as another shot smashed into the rock. He popped up again, using his P90 to spray the area where the blast was coming from. He couldn't tell if he had hit anything or not, but was obliged to duck as another volley of blasts sailed past and into his position. Grabbing his radio (which, after the snafu with the radio James and Benny took, he made sure had batteries), pressed the button and talked into it. "Okay, what now, fearless leader?" |
As the Jaffa fired, Kat kicked the servant's legs out from under him, dumping him in the scant shelter of a hill, and then dove after him.
"Aw hell," she said, pushing the servant a little more firmly into the ground than was strictly neccessary with one hand, while she flipped her sunglasses down over her eyes with the other, "Ches might be able to meet up with the other two, but...." |
