Miraculously, as the bomb team ran, two things happened.

1) Benny became motivated to get into better shape, and to subside on more than cheetos.

and, even better,

2) Benny fell down.

Granted, that last one wasn't a miracle in and of itself. What it did reveal was miraculous. When he fell, his radio pouch spilled open, and a pair of AA batteries fell out. Before going through the Stargate, Benny had put them in the pocket so they'd be easy to find. Frantically, he jammed them into the radio and yelled at Dex.

"Benny no likey bomb plan no more!"

Chester heard Benny's yell come over the radio, and was momentarily overcome with rage.

"Oh, NOW YOU HAVE A RADIO!?!?" he screams into his radio, "You could of freakin' told us that a few freakin' minutes ago and we could of avoid this entire cluster-"

Another series of staff weapon blasts slammed into Chester's cover, drowning out the last word.

Chester took a deep breath. "Sorry...I lost my cool...but I'm not in my happy place at the moment."

Popping up from cover, he again sprayed the area where the enemy fire was coming from, and got the satisfaction of seeing a jaffa fall out of the bushes before he was forced back under cover.

Dex closed his eyes with a silent thank you to whatever god gave Benny back his radio. Dex immediatly clicked his on, "Chesty shut up, now me and kat are going to open up on the jaffa. Meanwhile you and benny figure out where to regroup. Then we'll bring the car around and pick you up."

Dex fired a quick burst into the closest jaffa who fell to the ground quickly, though he slowly began pulling himself back up after he realized his armor had worked perfectly. "Now move chesty!" Dex grinned a little as he began to fire again, that chesty nickname was definately going to stick.

"YOU HAD FUCKING BATTERIES? WHY? WHYYY?" James roared as he picked Benny up to his feet and got him moving again. "I swear, if it weren't for the fact that I swore never to kill my team again, I'd strap a -"

James then went into a long winded speech that threatened Benny's manhood, and was also imcriminating evidence for a court martial. But when he was done, he planned their next course of action.

He grabbed the Radio from Benny. "Alright 'Chesty', where the hell are you? We're not too far from the enemy base so if you were to head our way we could lay an ambush for those in pursuit."

Chester sighed. "If I was a girl, it would be sexual harassment calling me chesty.” He mutters.

As Dex and Kat open fire, Chester got up and started running. “I’m moving towards you’re position,” he called over the radio to Benny and James. “But...ah…shouldn’t you guys be running, too?”

"We're running, but I'm sure we can stop long enough to save your behind." James called back, readying the jaffa weapon he'd gotten his hands on earlier.

James looked at his surroundings, and gauged where the others were from the explosions. The nearest land feature that could be noticed was small group of trees in the midst of a larger field. Perfect. "Alright, Chester, look out for a small crop of trees and run past it. We'll drop your pursuit."

"Look for the small crop of trees?!" Chester yells into his radio as he runs. "We're in a freakin' forest, man! All there is are small crops of trees!"

He keeps low and darts from cover to cover as staff weapon blasts pepper the woods around him.

As if on cue, but Benny and James spun and fell onto their stomachs. Their respective guns started to bark as they shot at their pursuers. Benny managed to drop two, but there was more behind them.

"Benny no likey shootey plan!"

"Dammit Chesty! It's a small patch of trees in the midst of a clearing! It looks practically like a freakin' bulls eye!"

Fortunately, they soon saw Chester and his pursuit, and Benny and James fired upon them. The enemy was quick to rally to the new threat, but James didn't feel like letting them rally. He quickly pulled out a grenade and cooked it. Then, with a pitch from his years playing baseball, the Jaffa saw a green egg soaring into their midst, then exploding before it hit the ground. Their armor stopped much of the blast, but the rocks that were kicked up and the unexposed flesh was burnt terribly. James and Benny fired off their Zats and finished the group off.

James picked Benny up. "Let's get after Chesty and get the hell out of dodge."

Chester heard the explosion, and out of reflex, hit the ground, covering his head.

Then he remembered he was being chased by a large group of angry jaffa, and that laying on the ground was a good way to get killed. Scrambling on all fours, Chester dived behind a rock he figured would give good cover. After readying himself, he popped up, P90 ready to fire.

Of course...at this point, there were no jaffa.

Scanning the landscape a few more times, Chester lowered the weapon. James and Benny came into view, and Chester waved at them.

"You could of mentioned a clearing, as compared to trees, you know." Chester said to James when they got closer.
