Story Heroes Ch. 2: "A New Home"
It was late in the night. All of the freed heroes had gone to sleep. Dr. Trang was in his room, staring at the ceiling. He was a little worried about what was coming. Now that he had brought the heroes to life, he had brought this entire war to a new level. Hopefully, they could beat their villians. But, you never know. Without an author, there was no one dictating that the heroes would lose. The downside, though, was that there was now no one saying that they would win! He didn't tell that to the others, not wanting to overload their minds even more. It's not everyday that you're told that you were simply a book character, and you had never existed before that day. Dr. Trang got up, and went over to a monitor he had in his room. He typed in some buttons, and back in the control room, another tube appeared. The device came down from the wall, and zapped the tube. This time, the character inside would have it's own memories, would know exactly what was going on, and who all the other characters were. So, there would be no more big explanations. Hopefully. The tube cracked open, and out fell the form of a man.
Meanwhile, in some other part of the world, an old man was watching a monitor. He grumbled as he looked at the symbols. "Damn. He brought in another one." He watched the symbols on the monitor, taking no interest in the hundreds of Kattos that were milling around him. He had no need to worry. He had created them. The old man turned as he heard the door behind him open. There stood a tall man in a black hooded robe. The man walked forward, with a twinge of a smile on his face. "Evening, Dr. Katton. I'm guessing that something is wrong." Dr. Katton turned his back on the man, but almost instantly, the man in black appeared beside. "Damn wizard. Should have left you in the tube. You're more trouble than you're worth." "Oh, you're too nice. Of course, you needed a man like me. And all the others. But, we're getting restless. We can sense something. I can feel the presence of Roland in this world. I don't need another chase, my liege." The doctor nodded. "I know. It seems my former assistant, Dr. Trang, has brought the heroes from your world to life." The man in black smiled even more. "Well, then. That means we'll just have to send a welcoming party." Dr. Katton pointed over at a large pile of dead Kattos in the corner. Kattos eat their dead, so the ones that survived and had ran had also dragged along the Kattos that weren't completely destroyed. The man in black gave a small twinge of disgust as he saw bullet holes from revolvers. It was Roland, all right. The man in black bowed to Dr. Katton. "Don't worry, my liege. We shall take care of it. You see, we'll send along the new Katto you have created. Should be no problem finishing them off. We won't even need to get our hands dirty." The man in black walked behind Dr. Katton. The doctor turned in his chair to say something to the man in black, but then noticed that the wizard had disappeared without a trace. The old man went back to his monitor. "Wizards." *the next morning* Dr. Trang was standing outside the old HQ as many of the guards packed large glass tubes into trucks. Many of them were experiments, and some might have been more heroes that hadn't been released yet. He looked out at the sun as the morning waned on. |
Torak ordered an offending Grolim (Priests of Torak) to be sacrificed on his Alter. The grolim had qustioned Torak's oppinion on the heros. He had informed Dr. Katto that the God Slayer, his nemesis was about. "Katto, I can also feel that he has Cthrag Yaska (The orb)" Torak said. "When they are destroyed I want the orb. There will be no negotiation on this matter."
The communication line closed Torak reclined on his black Iron throne. Enjoying the sounds of the screams of his sacrifices and the smells of the burning hearts. |
Abigail knelt before the vast, misshapen figure.
"My lord, I have news." Speak. "A surge of darkness has been detected. Dark Schneider has been reborn." This is unexpected. He must not be allowed to interfere with our plans. "What shall we do, then?" Find him. Destroy him. Use any and all means necessary. Augment the Kattos my own architecture if you have to. with System D must not be allowed to interfere with System A. "Of course, my lord. Your wisdom is absolute." Abigail rose and walked out of the vast chamber. Ansal-sax had spoken, and it was not happy. |
OOC: Just as a warning, I won't be able to post Friday through Sunday most likely, so Luke can just travel along with what the others are doing. And as for Luke, I was going for more the book Luke since technically it is Luke from the Thrawn Trilogy. And since everyone seems to be posting their villians actions, time for Joruus to appear...
Joruus C'baoth was pacing in his room. He did not care for this uppity scientist, ordering him around like some lacky. He was sorely tempted to use his force powers to warp the scientists mind to HIS will, then he would have these incredible genetic factories under his control, and he wouldn't have these useless little... IMPS to deal with! He needed real humans that could appreciate his powers, not mindless drones! He grumbled, still not sure enough of this strange new world he was in to try and just depose the scientist right now, but maybe if things didn't change soon, he would take more... direct measures, and just get the information he needed from the scientist with other methods... |
As though the fabric of reality itslef was tearing before him, the glass shattered before Elminster's eyes. The supporting fluid gushed out and he felt no strength in his legs, falling to the ground before him, still convulsing from the mental reprogramming. He rose to survey the room, and felt stinging in his hands from the glass shards, but he coulnd't make anything out. The fluid remained in his eyes and hair and skin. Elmister calmed himself, and willed a wave of force out from the center of his body; every hair stood on end for a second and the fluid shot off him in all directions and the glass in his hands fell to the floor. He stared at his bleeding hands, muttering a simple healing spelland watching the wounds close. It was strange, though, as there were scars left wehre the glass had punctured him...the spell had lost some of its potency...where is the lady? He thought. El (as I'll call him from now on) looked to the floor, still messy from his and several other releases, and the dead bodies of many...things. He immediately grabbed his staff, its large, iridescent blue jewel headpiece magnifying the dim light from the few unshattered control panels in the room and casting a cool glow about him. I suppose these are why I'm here. Then darkness shivered over him...and that...he knew the chosen of bane had be resurrected as well, but a more sinister foreboding was growing in his mind. He grabbed something off the shelf and put on his robes, hat, and shoes, lit his pipe, and walked in the direction of the lights moving down the corridor outisde the smashed open door.
He walked into the first room and saw a solemn looking man with strange looking weapons, and a short, hairy, passed out...halfling? I know of you, Roland, are you acquainted with my story? He placed 2 books on the table before him; The Dark Tower Vol.1, and Elminster, the Making of a Mage. |
Almost the moment after the new wizard looked up from placing the books on the table, he saw the nozzle of Roland's revolver pointed at his head. Roland looked the guy over, spun his gun on his fingers, and put it away.
"You don't look like a Katto. My question is, how do you know of me?" Roland then looked down at the two books. "Is my book present in your world, or something?" |
No, I simply knew about all of you when I woke up in that tube. I truly do not know how, but I am to assume there will be answers aplenty soon enough.
He pulled a small white candle from his pocket, and as he placed it in its ornamental silver holder, asked What are those strange weapons of yours? ooc: For now, I'll limit myself to 1st-3rd level spells, that sound ok?; I'm going from the DnD 3rd edition Player's Handbook, for reference. |
Roland looked down at his guns.
"They're called revolvers. They shoot metal objects called bullets at high speeds, with the purpose of killing whatever they hit." |
More efficient than a crossbow, I'd guess
as he lit the candle with a seemingly cold, smouldering piece of incense, and said a quiet prayer in an unknown tongue, staring intently at the candle. He went on for minutes, but at last, stopped, and extinguished the flame with a breath. He had a slightly downtrodden, but determined look on his face. I fight again in a time of troubles... ooc: you know what he's talking about if you've read any of the later Elminster books, or any of the Dark Elf stories later than Siege of Darkness |
((OOC: i guess my villian first, then my hero))
Malistara flicked one of the katto imps away from her with a slight move from her claw. The imp splattered against the wall. She had no use for such creatures. What she needed was some humans to manipulate and then teach the dragon magic she knew so well to. Some other Kattos began to eat the carcass of the dead splattered imp. However, Malistara knew one thing...she wasn't the only dragon in this world. From the moment Draconas had entered the world, she could feel his speech. Being stronger, she could shield herself from him doing the same, which made it all the more interesting. She moved her head over to speak to Dr. Katto. "You'll be needin' more than wizards, 'doctor.'" ----------------------------------------------------- Draconas hadn't slept a wink the entire night, for he was still trying to figure out why anyone would bring Malistara into this world or himself for that matter! It still didn't make any sense to him. If it were a human that brought him into this world, then perhaps it was a human that brought Malistara into this world as well. If so, he would find it incredibly hard to contol such a creature. He knew Malistara was very manipulative of humans, and had powerful magic to block anything coming her way, including counter magic and magic that could block out dragons completely. He had to ponder a while longer to figure this out, and he would take as much time as he pleased if needed. |
