Rpg maker
does anyone here own any of the rpg makers like RPG maker or rpg maker2
or 2003. If so do you like it. im planing to make one for myself. |
well, RM 2k3 is essentialy an improved version of the original RPG maker, which wasnt that bad. the battle system is really the most improved part of the system, which now has a SNES feel to it. since you can get it for free, id say go for it, heres a link:

I like it. It's really easy to use, and you can do a whole BUNCH of stuff with it. Like make your own monsters and your own moves, and things like that.
I hardly use RPGMaker. But when I do, it's almost always RPGMaker2000. I just abosolutely HATE the new battle system of RPGM2k3.
The only thing I don't like about RPGM2K3 is the fact that everyone uses 2k... You can never find battle char sets because nobody uses them... and i'm too lazy to figure out what i'm doing wrong when I try to make them...
I still use 2k, I still havent figured everything out in it yet, so im not really caring for looking for the BATTLE SPRITE*figgits angrily* Their like impossible to find and it pisses me off... so yea... i got 2K
I need some sprites for 2k3 where are some good places to find some.
They're both additive battle systems, quite similar except for the variance factor. All the calculations are pluses and minuses. That bites. I'd like to see a multiplicative battle system. Then I could make demis and other percentage-chance effects.
If you have 2K3, download the RTP file from 2K.... you'll get a lot more charsets, chipsets, etc. You'll still either have to search around obscure places to get Battle Sprites, or make your own (still haven't really figured out how).
It would be better if you could choose between RM2k and Rm2k3 battle engines. Because RM2k3 has a lot more stuff you can program with... However, I once again post a futile comment with most amatuer users of this development tool -
The customability is AMAZING. I have seen more advanced battle systems using and not using the DBS (Default Battle System) than you could imagine. Rayinne, if you really wanted to make something like Demi, you just have to program it out. |
