...ehh, I mean, Ripel and Dezil are perceived as dead by Ciaran. Or at least, Dezil is.

But the magitek came back reporting a lose probably, so I would think Ciaran (Who is smart) would probably assume Ripel is alive (And probably Dezil to, it wouldn't be that hard to figure out)

First, Dezil's Magitek blew up and made it look like he died. Second, I'm not sure but it may have looked like Ripel had been hit by that Flame Thrower. Third, Ciaran's troops fear him, and may say they have accomplished the original mission even if they knew it wasn't true.

But Ciaran has these points to base off that Dizel is alive off. First, Dezil threw something that blew up. Some other pilot had to have seen it, and most likely it would have been reported. Second, after Dizel's 'death', his house was booby trapped and blew up with Ultima. Obviously he probably had that planned. Third, I think they would tell him they failed, rather then hoping that failing the mission but lying doesn't come back and bite them in the ass.

Or kyrlo can decide that he thinks they are both dead.

Dezil didn't throw anything. It was an early transmitting device, that he used to overload the sub-commanders Magitek. The house is true, but that doesn't mean Dezil planned it as vengence, Ciaran may have presumed Dezil to be a paranoid eccentric that valued the secrecy of his work THAT much. And even if they say they failed, which would lead to a few executions most likely, they would have also reported the death of Dezil as contributing to the panic of the troops, since they wouldn't want it to look like they dropped the ball and ran with the troops. The selectivly lie, put all the blame on the 'dead' Dezil, and hope Ciaran goes light on them.

Ciaran actually rather liked Dezil, though... most likely if the guy who was suppose to be 'guarding' him hadn't died in the ultima blast he would have killed him when he got back... Most likely that guard was the only one who was really suppose to be guarding his charge (as well as keeping track to make sure he's loyal, but not killing him). Ciaran loved the anti-magic fields... although he hates their color... and likes all the other trinkets Dezil made.

Anyway... he probably wouldn't be too surprised that Ripel is alive... FZ's scenerio on their lying selectively is probably the most realistic... trying to put all the blame on Dezil, because a lot of refugees wouldn't stay secret for long, and if they had done their job there'd be very few refugees. Ciaran is a rather thorough man and would have ordered the entire populace destroyed, or as close to it as possible, just incase Ripel confessed his sins. However... they'd probably tell him that Ripel at least was dead.

To put that all in an easy to read form: Ciaran has been told Dezil and Ripel are both dead, and he has no reason to question Dezil's death, but wouldn't be too extremely surprised if Ripel is alive... but at the moment has no reason to believe he's still alive either. He does have reason to send more people out to attack the refugees, however...

I thought of a song that might be good for Kairi's theme song... but I dunno. It sounds a little too lovie dovie for her.
(it's the theme song from Legend of Dragoon, go figure ^_^; ) But the song sounds sad and like it could be explaining something sad that happened in her past which makes her so determined to protect people now.
