It's the one from the opening credits, titled "If you still believe". What the heck, here are the lyrics. It may or may not be hers. I'm still deciding if it sounds too pathetic for a person like Kairi, who probably should have a tougher song that doesn't have to do with love...

I had a dream that I could fly
I can feel each moment as time goes by
We never be too far away
You would always be here I heard you say

I never thought
Thought that it would be our last good bye
I still can dream
That one day love will fall out from the sky

Do you still remember, all the time that has gone by
Do you still believe that, love can fall out from the sky
If from where your standing, you can see the sky above
I'll be waiting for you, if you still believe in love

Find a way,
To bring back yesterday
Find a way to love
I hope we stay
When tomorrow becomes today
Love will find a way

I'll be waiting for you
In my heart you are the one
ah...
If I cannot find you
I will look up to the sun
If from where your standing
You can see the sky above

I'll be waiting for you, if you still believe in love

Do you still remember, all the time that has gone by
Do you still believe that love can fall out from the sky
If from where you're standing, you can see the sky above
I'll be waiting for you, if you still belive in love

What do you guys think? I really like the tune of this song. ^^;

Contradictions galore.

Her song is about love and seems sweet and stuff.

The majority that have been suggested via everyone else have been....yes.

CelesJessa 01-27-2004 07:22 PM

Yeah, I thought the song wasn't gonna work very well. (I played Legend of Dragoon recently and that song has been stuck in my head though... ^^; )
Hmmm... what song would work... *thinks* It has to be something more tough sounding and with less love stuff.

Truce 01-27-2004 07:23 PM

Eh...last time I remember, as a dragoon it would be Kairie falling from the sky. And yes, it is sorta lovey dovey. Still, I find it sorta funny that as a dragoon she drops out of the sky, and 'she' hopes for love to do the same.

Also, I choose "Perfect" from Simple Plan as Ripel's theme song. He does seem like he's regretful for making all those mistakes, and he does seem to strive for...yeah.

It's not as cool as the others though.

Anyway, I've got an idea for a theme song (actually writing one myself), so I'll try posting it up one I finish it. If I ever do.

I'm not picking a song, cause at the moment Deamon is just tagging along and not killing anyway, since I need to wait a bit more to jump into the story.

Krylo 01-27-2004 07:40 PM

I'd imagine that when Ciaran's bandits attack Deamon will be needed to pull their asses out of the fire. They're mostly hardened participants of bloodsport, plus they, as bandits, would often be attacking armed convoys and stuff... I'd guess they'd be harder to destroy than the magitek. Of course, I don't really plan on controlling that battle at all, but rather just letting one of you control Killith and his men... unless you'd really rather I do it.

IHateMakingNames 01-27-2004 07:41 PM

I doubt they want Deamon to slaughter the bandits, and probably want to fight them themselves.

Forever Zero 01-27-2004 08:19 PM

Bandits harder to destroy than Magiteks?! First, our army of mages would have full access to their magical arsenal against humans, so as long as they had time to prepare their spells, they would wipe out a good portion of the bandits before they even started the fight. Second, you are saying that basically Pirates who have had to train themselves are better than you own militarily trained troops? I think you need to reconsider your military then...

Anyway, there are also trained warriors in the good guys camp, along with a small army of mages, and Dezil and his mechanical bag of tricks. I think we can hold our own against a group of bandits...

Krylo 01-27-2004 10:08 PM

No no... not harder to destroy persay... harder to defeat because they fight differently. Think of it this way... they've had to destroy magitek on a near daily basis just to eat. Most of the soldiers in an army will leave magitek to other magitek... they don't have access to that. And as for your mages, if you'd read my post, you'll notice the bandits have their own mages, as well as fighters.

Not better trained persay... but more difficult to kill on the basis that their training is from fighting militarily trained troops. And that's what they do for a living. So yes, they'd be more skilled... but not from training. Soldiers can be lazy, expect their platoon to figure things out and to help them through battle, and soldiers usually aren't battling in every fight... these are bandits that have constantly gone against better armored, better trained, and probably larger numbered foes. They're not going to be pushovers. Losing is also not an option at all to them. They know that if they're captured they'll be executed... and if they run Killith will kill them. There's no surrender, no running, just fight or die. Kind of like european pirates were more feared by the british military than other military ships... for those very reasons.

And really you just have a bunch of civilians, a blue mage, a geomancer, an engineer, a dragoon, a shaman, a white mage and a thief... excluding Deamon whose some sort of inhuman or superhuman being... or something. Three of them would be 'good' fighters with what they have on them... maybe four. Five if you count Ark, but to be honest, I think Ark is a bit more powerful than he should be... it's hard for me to imagine a thief destroying a bunch of magitek single handedly, especially with a background that shows him as a pacifistic thief.

I suppose you could handle it... but mostly due to Dezil's magitek tricks... I'm just saying it shouldn't be as easy as you seem to be thinking.

Anyway, Ecurt... I found a song that I think fits Ripel rather well with the whole assassination schtick... excuse the caps but when I looked up the exact lyrics that's how they came. What is Eternal by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra:

AND HERE IN THE NIGHT

AS I FEEL THE INFERNO
I STARE IN THE DARK
THINKING WHAT IS ETERNAL

THE MAN OR THE MOMENT
THE ACT OR THE REASON
THESE THOUGHTS FILL MY HEAD
AS I CONTEMPLATE TREASON

OF DREAMS I HAVE HAD
AND DREAMS I HAVE PONDERED
WHEN LATE IN THE NIGHT
MY MIND IT WOULD WANDER

TO THINGS I HAVE DONE
AND THEN QUICKLY REGRETTED
WHILE DENYING VICES
MY LIFE HAD SELECTED

AND I THINK WHAT I'VE DONE
OR HAVE YET TO BEGIN
AND THE MAN I'VE BECOME
AND THE MAN THAT I'VE BEEN

NOW CAUGHT IN A WALTZ
WITH THE ETERNAL DANCER
I'M COURTED BY DEATH
BUT DEATH ISN'T THE ANSWER
I SAY

ALL I WAS
MEANT TO BE
COULD I
SUDDENLY
JUST DECIDE
NOT A THOUGHT
WOULD SURVIVE
COULD IT BE
MY LIFE'S WORTH
ENDED THERE
WITH MY BIRTH

IF I COULD SEE SOMEONE
WHO'S BEEN THERE BEFORE ME
AND TRADED HIS SOUL
FOR A MOMENT OF GLORY

HIS PENANCE OR MERCY
BY SPIRITS DEBATED
WHILE JUDGED ON A SCALE
THAT'S BEEN HEAVILY WEIGHTED

AND WHAT HAVE I DONE
COULD THERE BE SUCH A SIN
IN THIS MAN I'VE BECOME
IN THIS MAN THAT I'VE BEEN

NOW CALLING TO GOD
FROM THE PIT'S VERY BOTTOM
I PRAY HE FORGIVES
EVERY SIN I'VE FORGOTTEN
THIS DAY

AND WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT
THAT MY FATE IT WOULD CONJURE
THIS TWIST IN THE ROAD
ON WHICH I HAVE WANDERED

EACH VISION AND DREAM NOW
COMPLETELY DISMEMBERED
TO GIVE ONE'S WHOLE LIFE
AND FIND NOTHING'S
REMEMBERED

AND WHAT GOOD IS A LIFE
THAT LEAVES NOTHING BEHIND
NOT A THOUGHT OR A DREAM
THAT MIGHT ECHO IN TIME

THE YEARS AND THE HOURS
THE SECONDS AND MINUTES
AND EVERYTHING THAT
MY LIFE HAS PLACED IN IT
BETRAYED
BETRAYED
BETRAYED

THE THINGS I HAVE DONE
THE PLACES I'VE BEEN
THE COST OF MY DREAMS
THE WEIGHT OF MY SINS

AND EVERYTHING THAT
I'VE GATHERED IN LIFE
COULD IT BE LOST
COULD IT BE LOST IN THIS
COULD IT BE LOST IN THIS
NIGHT

Forever Zero 01-27-2004 10:22 PM

Hmm, that is solid logic. They may be physically frailer (Hard to stand up to a machine for endurance...), but they also deal with infantry all the time and fight differently from a normal army. Well, it will definatly be an interesting fight regardless, since they will most likely have their own bag of tricks to deploy, relying on more evil cunning than brute strength to fight. I'm beginning to see a trick/anti-trick battle as Bandits use evil trick X, and Dezil desperatly tries to build anti-trick Y to counter...
