Avengers Movies

Article

Not really, but they certainly are setting up an awful lot of Avengers in their own movies. I could see them working on an Avengers movie once everyone's established.

(Please don't cast Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury! PLEASE DON'T CAST SAMUEL L. JACKSON AS NICK FURY!)

Actually they were gonna cast George Clooney as Nick Fury, but then he dropped cause they offended his liberal sensibilities.

(Disclaimer - I may be making this up)

David Hasslehoff could do it...?

Mashirosen 05-02-2006 12:04 PM

Aaron Eckhart is Captain America. The chin! You could cut a slice of Mom's apple pie on that thing. And serve it to Boy Scouts, while the flag waves in the background and someone, somewhere, hums the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Oh man, please no.

I mean Nick Fury is sort-of supposed to be a guy you can take seriously, you know?

I mean not that I don't love and respect the Hasslehoff, as all good Americans should, it's just come to his acting career, not exactly a guy you can take seriously, you know?

I want to say something contrary and snitty, but I just can't.

Chin of a damn God, that man has. An Apple-Pie-Lovin', Patriotically-Themed-Shield-Wieldin' God.

Looks like he's busy with a coupleother movies next year, though. A shame, 'cause he really does have the chin. [EDIT: Maybe he'll be free if DC ever decides to go a GL movie with Alan Scott as the GL.]

I've got it: Nick's been white, he's been black... let's cast Jimmy Goddamn Smits. He can run the gamut from "French-Portuguese" (Bobby Simone on NYPD Blue) to "Mexican" (Matt Santos on The West Wing) to "Alderaanian" (Bail Organa in Star Wars Episodes II and III), and look damn fine doing it.

(in a Colbert tone) I'm a guy. Guys know what guys like. Moving on...

Weren't they originally discussing Matt Damon as Iron Man? I could see that...

Naw, it's got to be Vince Vaughn.

I mean come on, a booze-happy billionaire with a robo-suit that blows up evil?

It's totally Vince Vaughn from Swingers! ...with a robo-suit that blows up evil!

CheshireThief 05-02-2006 03:51 PM

I think the real question is this... Who can they get to play Ant Man and Wasp?

Uhm, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but it almost sounds as if you don't know the horrible, horrible truth...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119781/

But to be perfectly honest, when I first started to read this thread, I assumed it was going to be talking about the Ultimate Avengers animated 'movies'. Not that I cared too much for the movie that played on CN, but I forsee at least one sequel, considering how open-ended that one ended...

SWB
- It played on SciFi a few months back, so there's a chance you might be able to catch it again if you *REALLY* wanted too...

MFD 05-02-2006 07:27 PM

... You know, Jimmy Smits would actually make a really good Iron Man. I withtract the Nick Fury dream-casting.
