Super hero RP(Cause we need at least one)
 

This will be a standard super hero RP, Players would be either heroes or villians within a large, Gotham/Metropolis/New York/Paragon(pretty much all the same damn thing) city. As an Idea I'm going to throw out, I'm thinking of a "story Arch" thing where each player would be able to come up with a story arch(one at a time), It would essentially mean, every player gets to be GM at least once, in the sense that they would be able to dictate the progression of a story line.
Example: Player one does the Apokolipse(sp?) saga, everyone plays through that
Player 2 does the"Dark Pheonix" saga everyone plays through that.
This is just an idea. The RP would have to be a lasting thing since a Saga would likely extend to the length of shorter RP's (Say, one of the Avvy RP's)

thanks much, I suppose there might be some confusion so I'll clear some things up. For anyone else who might be intrested, this is an intrest/planning thread. Some more info, as previously stated this will be set in a typical, "Big Superhero City" setting, players can be either heroes or villians, It's a generic comic book world, so screw historic facts, and most laws of science and nature when you come up with a character.

The story arch system will generally be a person coming up with a story, sending it to me privately, and me evaluating it before making a decision. If your story revolves around your PC then you post the threads and signifigant posts for that Arch, if it does'nt then you would send me the basic info about what's supposed to happen and I would post it.

This sounds like a great idea! Count me in.

I'm on the fence about joining but I heavily advise against letting any RPer-suggested Arches revolve around a PC. It just doesn't work like you think it would, and you end up with a storyline revolving entirely around one character while everyone else gets to sit on the sidelines and wait their turn.

I'll admit, back on the TWC boards I believe SS tried something like this and it bombed, and I'm pretty sure I was a leading contributer. The story-burden swung around to me and I basically concocted an entire campaign that was essentially RP-masturbation to Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

So, I dunno how you'll use that information, just relaying my personal thoughts and experiences.

I was worried about the same thing which is why I came up with some methods to hopefully reduce or eliminate such happenings.

1: I've decided it should be optional, everyone who joins does'nt have to make up an Arch, I'd encourage it but it's not necessary.

2: I'm still GM so I decide what goes and stays, that way noone could say. eliminate a player they don't like or something petty like that.

3: I'd evaluate each Plot I receive personally before deciding to let that person run with it. stories that include "I do"-"I would"-or "My character has" too much would probably be denied

Haven't seen any developments for a few days. Still going to do it?

I need more people to express an intrest. I'd really like to run this so I'll still be available until it slips to the second page (maybe even beyond then) as always, I have a problem with names. I need a name for both the city this will take place in and the RP itself (man I suck:()
