Superman Trailer

View it here

Oh, man... Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor rocks the house. I know, I know... he's Lex Luthor, and I really shouldn't root for him, but still. I mean, come on! Gotta love the guy!

MFD, your link is superbusted.

MFD 05-04-2006 08:53 PM

Whoops. It was working earlier. Thanks, Chi.

EDIT: Odd... the link works when it's in my bookmarks.

I still find it hard to believe how close of a connection I have with Superman.

His mother was my 1st and 2nd grade teacher, and I've talked to him several times. I even got his autograph around 5 years ago when he was still only in sitcoms.

Trailer could've used some more action and a introduction of a plot. =/

It introduced the plot: Lois thinks the world doesn't need Supe any more, but she is proven wrong because Lex has advanced alien weaponry that could kill millions-- no, billions!-- of people, and he's kidnapped her. Again.

Though, I think this is the first time her son's been kidnapped. He doesn't fear Lex as he rightfully should.

Spacey out-Hackmans Hackman, which is impressive. Superman... well, all I can say is as Superman, that guy makes a really great Clark Kent. Lois having a kid becomes even more godawfully ridiculous given that Lois is apparently fifteen years old. And you would think after Superman 2 the guy would have thought the Fortress of Solitude could use a fucking lock on the door.

That about covers it, really.

gurusloth 05-05-2006 12:43 AM

Kate Bosworth is not fifteen. She's just hot.

Fifthfiend 05-05-2006 12:49 AM

Hot? Margo Kidder was hot. Somehow she managed this while still looking like she'd seen the back end of puberty.

I mean she's supposed to be the tough-as-nails investigative reporter for the nation's greatest metropolitan newspaper, and she looks like she writes the hawt or nawt column for Teen Bop magazine.

gurusloth 05-05-2006 12:53 AM

Well, according to IMDB, she's 23. How old do you want Lois Lane to be anyway?

On topic - I thought the trailer was pretty cool, Spacey was funny and crazy, and the introduction of a child into the Lois/Supes relationship is a nice twist. I'm all for seeing this when it comes out.

Just finished watching the trailer for the 10th time in a row. I'll be there opening night. =D
