I have to revive the pirate v. Ninja topic for a moment
 

I can't believe I let entire topic go buy without using this evidence...

Shogun the book. (I've read that book twice and I can't think of any names from it.)

When in the palace and the ninjas attack. the main character fights off many ninjas and lives to tell the tall. That dude is basically a pirate and he kills several ninjas.

My favorite part of that entire part of the book is the ninjas have slipped in in the dead of night intending to slight throats while people are a sleep yet when the pirate uses his pistols the the ninjas call him dishonorable....

Shooting someone is dishonorable. Slitting someone's throat is an art.

Well, I don't know what Shogun is (If it's supposable a true story or fiction), but either way the fight was probably exadurated (Extra ninjas, got rid of all bad things on Pirates part) so main guy looks better...

Godzilla could crush all 200 of them anyway

I believe its fiction based on a true story (Japan's modernization I think...something in Japan...yeah...)

And PVP once had a little one week comic where a pirate fought a ninja...I think it turned onto a tie, but funny stuff nonetheless (I think at one point the ninja throws a shuriken and it hits the pirates wodden leg and the ninja goes "A wooden leg...you have no honor")

that makes perfect sense. one of the first rule of ninjas is that a group of ninjas will always lose, while a single ninja will always win.

Slitting throats in the night when they're sleeping is not so honorable. Shooting a ninja is smart. Pirates don't need honor, that's why they're so damn cool.

Since when were ninjas suppsoed to be honorable?

Yes, that's my question. If you wanted honor, you used a samuri. They were better fighters anyway. You used ninjas when you wanted something done quietly in the night (and I don't want people yelling at me for telling them samuri were better fighters). I personally think that the entire ninja hype is over rated, but that's also because I have the sneaking suspicion that no matter how many flips he can do, if he could move his blade faster than the eye could percieve, he still couldn't take down a knight in full armor.
Pirates are also somewhat over rated (however Francis Drake was pretty damn cool). But since the pirates have guns, I'd have to side with them. And please.... no one tell me that the ninjas could dodge the bullets, because they couldn't.

I remember seeing this game at an arcade in Australia where you basically played a pistol-wielding ninja. Oddest thing I'd seen in that year.

Helloooo, remember Tenchu everyone? Rikimaru was a very honorable ninja. He's basically a samurai with stealth kills.
