Virdian City: Chap:1: New guy in town

The car pulled up slowly, two men got out and leisurely made their way to the building in front of them. Across the street, in one of those angry-looking, inner city trees, was The Poltergeist. Impossibly perched on a branch that couldn’t have been more than an inch thick, he crouched, unseen to the casual observer, waiting for his moment. As they hit the side walk, he made his move. Removing his cloaking and extending his blades, he pushed of, gliding down at breakneck speed. As he came behind the taller man he swung his hands forward. He rolled on landing and remained crouched on the ground as the other man turned around just in time to see his friend fall apart, into four separate chunks. He began screaming. “Oh my god! Holy shit! You freaking ripped him to shreds!” The Poltergeist looked back. “Did you know that that man killed four people with no remorse?” The other man stopped suddenly and looked shocked and nervous. “No, I-I didn’t know that.” Poltergeist swiveled on his heels and popped his blades out. "Did you also know that you’re a terrible liar?”

Tracy Spear’s night was getting along to a rip roaring start. But across town someone else wasn’t having quite as much luck. Deljuan Hubbard was what you would call mostly harmless. He wasn’t much of a trouble maker, but he wasn’t good at very much either. His grandfather had supported his free-spirited ways since he was a kid. He had never expressed his disappointment for his slacker-ish ways. Deljuan had never been closer to anyone in his life. When grandpa died a few days ago, Deljuan received a package from his Grandfather, set to be released on his death. In it was a strange metal gauntlet with jewels and hieroglyphics written all over with a simple note attached to it in an unmarked envelope. ”Be happy”. Deljuan didn’t know what he had gotten his hands on. The gauntlet of Osiris had the power to grant his greatest wishes, it held within it’s casing a great magical energy that many wizards and mages sought out with great fervor. Taking a shortcut through a semi-wooded area to get back home, he absently turned it over in his hands and analyzed it. He stared at it intently, shuffling through the pine needles on the ground. He held it up to the moonlight which was exceptionally bright at the moment. Very bright. Very very bright. In fact it almost seemed as if… Before he could react a large object came streaking out of the sky and crashed just a few feet behind him. The shockwave knocked him off his feet and he quickly scrambled to the crater. Looking down he saw a round, egg shaped object that seemed to be made out of some indescribable metal, and a voice seemed to emanate from within it, repeating the same phrase over and over again in some strange foreign language. For a brief second he grappled with the idea of reporting it first but his curiosity got the better of him and he clambered down into the crater and leaned in for a closer look. At that moment his gauntlet banged against the outer shell and became stuck. He tried as hard as he could to pull it off but it seemed to be attached by some mysterious force. The egg began to glow and shake; the voice became louder and somewhat triumphant. Suddenly the light faded and the voice quieted. There was a pause, then a massive explosion that swept over Deljuan but didn’t seem to hurt him. When the light dimmed he saw a mangled, twisted form laying where the egg had been. Shadow surrounded it and he couldn’t quite make it out, against his better judgment he took a step forward. A yellow, jagged grin formed somewhere on the body and it lunged for him. Tentacles lashed out and wrapped themselves around his body his screams were soon muffled by a slithering appendage and all was silent. Minutes passed and soon Deljuan re-emerged from the Crater, A jagged yellow grin on his face and shadow obscuring his form.

Drake Lee was trying out a new way of training. He'd recently taken up parkour as a hobby, and was currently running across the rooftops of Virdian City. As he landed from a long jump, a flash of light caught his eye, getting brighter, before beginning to die away as he rolled to his feet. He pulled his quarterstaff off his back, and felt his eyes change, giving him enhanced vision. Looking at the now magnified scene, he could just about make ou the remains of the object that had crashed.
"That doesn't look good," he mused to himself, before setting off towards the source of the light just as fast as he could.

“Hand over all your cash kid,” a voice said from behind Matt, “and that shiny think you got in your hands there.”
Matt turned around to face two large men, one with a rather large knife, the other pointing a gun at his head.
“O-ok…” he replied reaching into his pocket. He begins to hand over his wallet, when another voice from behind the two muggers spoke.
“Not so fast, guys,” Silo said, grabbing the two would-be criminals by the back of their necks. He turned them around to face him. “You messed with the wrong nerd,” he said, before launching them into the sky.
“Thank you Marco. I’m glad you’re here, you might find this interesting.”
“Wha’s that you got there, little buddy?”
“It’s a device I built to track unusual energy signatures. There was one in an area close to here. I’d be glad if you would come with me, there is a possibility, if a low one, that it could be dangerous.”
"No problem," Silo said, picking up Matt and flying in the direction of the energy signature.

I feel so dirty for making this guy

Deljuan looked around. He leaned over the crater and shrugged his shoulders. He breathed slowly then stretched his arm out into space. He begans uttering words in a deep, resonating tone in the same language that had been previously coming from the egg. He stands there staring with his head cocked to the side for a few minutes. Then repeats the phrase, with a more forceful tone. He get's a confused and angry look on his face when nothing happens then lashes at a nearby tree with a tentacle, cracking it in half. As h stands there breathing heavily, he suddenly gets a weird smirk on his face and slaps his forehead in exhasperation. "first rule, my magic only works on my home planet, how could I have forgotten that?" He snatches the gauntlet of the ground and tilts his head back. He sniffs the air and grins looking inward towards town. "glad that still works" tentacles sprout from his body and cary him through the tree's as if he were flying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He lands in the city, outside a small "antique" shop in a rather run-down neighborhoood.
As he enters, a woman behind the counter greets him warmly. She is somewhere in her early thirties-late twenties. Her, long dark hair, sweeps the counter slightly as she smiles at the Young man in the drty t-shirt and jeans. "Hi, I'm Isabelle, How can I help you?"
Deljuan leans over the counter and drops the guatlet down. "This is'nt an antique store and I'd like to make a trade" Isabelle leans in closer. "You do know what you have there right? what mage in his right mind would give the Osiris guantlet away?" Deljuan Smirks, showing his big, pointy teeth. "well It does'nt serve me any purpose at this point and I think you have something much better" Isabelle jerks back "You get out of that boy right now , whoever you are you have no right to be in there!" Deljaun chuckles. "Bitch I have the right to do whatever I want, because I can. I can take anything I need, and right now, I need you." A tentacle swings up and jerks towards her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Deljuan sits in the second floor, watching television, Isabelle's corpse in the seat next to him. On television is a news story about a band performing a concert in town. He jumps up and looks at the screen. "Hey, I'm getting a neat scent off of him." He looks over at Isabelle, a crusty book clutched in her now lifeless hands. "Well my dear, I don't think you'll be needing this any more" he plucks the book out of her hands and picks her up by the neck. throwing her out the window he takes of, swinging on his tentacles over the city.

Drake spots the monster flying across the city as he speeds towards the woods.
"What in the name of the King of Dragons is that?!" he exclaims. "Whatever it is, it's not good news."
He stops moving, closes his eyes, and clears his thoughts. Grasping his quarterstaff in its sheath across his back, he formulates a question to his draconic companion.
"What's that monster?" he asks it silently.
Bad news. It's an alien creature, an outcast from its people. Very powerful, utterly ruthless. It will stop at nothing to get what it wants.
"And what does it want?"
I don't know. But whatever it is, it'll be bad news for the town. I'd better come and help.
Drake nods, and stands up. He draws his staff, feeling his canines grow longer and sharper, his ears turn pointed, and his eyes become lidless green pools of mercilessnesss. He begins to spin the staff around him in a blinding pattern, so fast that the pole appears to become a solid shield around him. A white glow appears in front of him, and he starts to hear wingbeats. He slams the end of the stave into the ground, and there in front of him is his companion, Rhuvair. Sedraiken vaults onto the beast's back, and the pair take off, speeding across the buildings after the monster.

"Er... Marco" Matt says "The energy signal is moving towards us now."
Silo looks below them and sees the tentacled monster fly past and towards the city.
"And now another one has popped up," Matt says
Silo flies down low and drops Matt safely onto the ground.
A dragon zooms past him, just before he takes off after both beings.

Mark was wandering the streets with a bored look on his face. He had just finished work at the store his parents left him after they died. The store although not exactly making a killing was keeping Mark with enough money to finance his quest to find his parents killer.

He had recently recieved a email from one of the private detectives he had hired asking for a meeting in a low class district of the city. "Wouldn't want to be out too late after dark" Mark muttered to himself sarcasticly. The darkness was where he felt most comfortable since he had recieved his powers.

He walked up to the building the detective had described. "What a tip, I wonder why he wanted to meet me here his office is on the other side of town" Mark began to get that feeling in his gut that something was about to happen.

He was proven right when seconds later a female body flies out of the next building and some dark thing (that was the best way he could describe it) flew out the window just after it.

Quickly he concentrated and changed to his shadow form and with the speed of dark (OOC he he he its the same as the speed of light) followed the dark form at a distance.

It seemed as if everyone was gathering in the same place. The Unseen was there at the meeting place. Unseen. As was the whole point. He was ready to grant any of the people's desires. Oh how great was this moment. His mysterious purposes were revealed after he had granted his servant's desires. And he readily did so, for he had his own purposes for his bizarre sense of reality.

Tracy found his way to Isabelle’s shop shortly after the group left. She had been telling him about some mysterious figures meeting across the street, and something else, some strange energy that she felt around her home. He had promised to show up that night, to help her out. Just in case. What he saw when he got there made his cold heart burn. There she was, sprawled out on the roof of a car, the life gone from her body. Strange wounds and tears on her clothes told him that there was a struggle. He walked past her and into the store. Scorch marks and broken artifacts only further proved what he already knew, “at least she didn’t go without a fight.” Isabelle had been… kind to him. She was one of the few living people he considered his friend. He walked back outside and looked once more at her body. Her clothes had been ripped rather obscenely, leaving her… exposed. He undid his cloak and dropped it onto her. He took a deep breath "TELL ME WHO DID THIS!!!!!!!!"
