A giant came from behind Vace. "I don't think we can sit by and let that thing destroy everything like that."
Vace looked back at the giant and said, "Well, that may be true, and it seemed the normal police weren't even capable of phasing him, but we don't know where he is, what he is trying to do, or even how powerful he is. I've never seen or heard of anything like that until today."
James sighed "screw it im going to get drunk. Considering I saw one of my friends die here I think ive earned it" with that he put his mahine pistol into his jacket and wandered over to the doors of the bar "you got room for one more? I'm looking to drown my sorrows"
"Have one on me, James." Isaac said. "I owe you one, so it's the least I can do. What's troubling you?"
Samuel looked at James.
"Wait, aren't you the guy who bumped into me?" |
James nodded "yeah that'd be me" he then turned to Isaac pulling up a chair "you wanna know what's troubling me? I'll tell ya: one of my old police buddies was shot nigh on half an hour ago right in front of me by a lightning elemental. The poor bastard was dead before he hit the ground. The wierd thing is is that I emptied at least three clips into that crazy lightning slinging prick and not a drop of blood to be found!"
"You lost a friend to him too?" Vance asked with his always monotone voice. "We need to stop him, but first Im going home to get some shut-eyes. I havent slept since last Wednesday. Good night. Well meet tomorrow in this bar, and Monty? Could you keep the bar closed tomorrow, we dont need any people knowing what were up to." "Yeah, sure Vance."
Inyri sighed. She had just lost her home, and what little possessions she had, and her meger fire abilities would have done squat agenst the guy who destroyed her home.
James nodded "yeah sounds good." The bartender gave him a quizzical look "you don't seem very upset that your friend died as you put it 'nigh on half an hour ago' bud"
James sat up "thats cos if you don't suck it up and move on, it gets to you and I'm never going to let that happen. As for the idea of shut-eye I'm all for it. my apartment block is across the street if anyone needs me for something" With that he stood up and headed for the door. |
Samuel took a final drink. He stood up, and waved to Monty.
"Well, I'm heading out." Samuel looked over at Inyri. He felt a little sympathetic to her. But only a little. You don't grow up in Shadow territory to become soft. It would get you killed. Samuel laid 50 creds on the bar. "Monty. Let the girl take the room in the back. She looks down and out." Monty grabbed the creds, and nodded. "Alright. I'll put her there when she's ready." Samuel yawned, and walked over to the shadow in the corner. He disappeared. |
(OOC) You know she was helping clean up at the bar at the start of this, right?
(OOC: Yes, but that doesn't mean that rooms come free.)
ooc: hey folks, my connection's been down lately, can I hop in?
Isaac sat listening to the others as he formulated his goals. He knew that the Elemental was a danger to everyone, even the children he lived to protect. He would tell Tony and May to take hide the others until they heard from him before he set out to learn more about the mysterious man.
"Well, it's been quite a night." Isaac muttered. "Take care of yourself, Monty. You too, miss." At that, he left the bar and walked out onto the streets. |
Kirin stood out on top of the weathered old dojo, taking no mind of the now subfreezing temperature, and feeling rather refreshed by the arctic wind whipping through his ratty t-shirt. He didn't hear the explosions outside, as Master Norakama had him in deep meditation, but now, he noticed the faint light from the burning wreckage and picked up his staff. He made his way to the site of the battle via the rooftops, carefully peering over an edge to see police cruisers, turning around in time to see a bit away, back another block, someone walking out of Monty's bar. Monty's bar is closed right now he thought. Not that he went there often, but he'd been by often enough over the past 9 years to know the place should be closed.
He hopped lightly off the building to the side on the alleyway, and walked over to the bar entrance, noting the man who left, as he moved silently down the street away from him. Another gust cut the air like an icy knife, and he thought, why do I even wear shirts? Carrying his staff like a walking stick, he pushed open the door to see what had just transpired. Every day for the past 9 years, the kind, but stern master had taught Kirin many skills for survival on the street. He took him in as an orphaned elemental child, and raised him as a son. He had shown him how to fight like the old grandmasters back on Earth. He ahd helped him focus and control his gift. But, upon passing through the door and laying ice blue eyes on the girl wiping down the bar, he froze (Terrible pun not intended). Master Norakama may have touched on the subject when drunk on saki a few times, but he had never told him anything useful about girls. |
OOC: I am completely lost.

ooc: Did I screw it again? Where's the confusion? My char. profile is in the signup thread. nyahhhh!

The next morning Vance was the first one to arrive in the bar. (Yes, I know Inyri(or something) is sleeping there.) ''Good morning, Monty. Nobody here yet?'' ''Nope, havent seen anyone, except for Inyri.'' ''Fine than, give me a bottle of beer, Im thirsty.'' ''Comin' right up Vance. ''
Inyri looked like she had just woken up as she headed over to the bathroom. She could hear in the background the televison talking about what had happoned last night.
