Venezuela is doomed
 

This post will be edited later after i find all of the sources for this but Apparently venezeula is going to legalize the theft of food and drugs for people who can not afford them. I hope to god that this doesnt actually go into effect, because more than half the country is eligable to start stealing food and drugs.

Well, it probably appeals worldwide to humanitarians and socialists. It's very nice and will mean less hunger and sickness, to an extent.

But, there will be abuse. Plus, the "too poor" population of Venezuela is overwhelming. If they all stole something once a week, the GDP would plummet.

I'm afraid this is a poor idea.

It will probably end up something like in Atlas Shrugged. Anyone in the country with any talent or wealth who doesn't want to have people ripping them off and leeching off of them will flee the country. It'll destroy Venezuela if it happens.

At the same time, Venezuela's economy is not in good shape. And by not in good shape I mean doing very poorly. And by doing very poorly I mean people have had to come up with a new system of mathmatics just to figure out how bad the economy is.

True story.

that was pretty much my thoughts, another phenomenon likely to occur is that people who are producing the food and medicine will just stop because there will be no profit in it, the "poor" will just stand there taking what they please and by law the owner can do nothing about it, so why even provide it.

heh it's funny, you quit your job, then just steal everything you want. whoops looks like no one's working. forget about corporate losses the countries fucked even without it. i don't think it's true though, rush may spin less than most radio talk show hosts but he still spins

which is why i changed this to a hypothetical question, even I have my limits of trust when it comes to el rushbo((i know a lot of you dont trust him at all but im a conservative{{not republican mind you, or democrat for that matter}} )) and this sounds just a little to rediculous to be true...truth can be more bizzare than fiction though and i think it would just be hillarious if it did turn out to be accurate.

if it did go into affect the poor would steal all of the rich guys stuff making him eligible to take his stuff back making the poor people porr agin. and it would not only create a vicioius cycle but an expensive one ( think of the cost of renting a uhaul or moving van every time you go stealing.) By the way are they still having riots their or have they started to recover?

It doesn't sound like that bad an idea. It only has about as many problems as the government printing loads of money...

Somehow, I doubt this whole thing is true, just because other countries would be like, "Dude! What the hell!?" Yeah. Countries say 'dude' to one another.

Wooh. Socialism that allows clearly criminal activity. That ain't good... I wonder how that's going to work. Are these folks just going to wander into a market, take a load of crap as if they're shopping, and just walk away without paying, and then when the retailer gets uppity they'll just go, "Sorry bud, I'm poor so stealing's not illegal. If you try to stop me I'll get you for harrassment," They ought to just do what Rome did and let the government give away a ton of food to the hungry mob.
