Final Fantasy III for the NES
(Final Fantasy III for the NES not VI/III for the SNES!) Believe me or not, this is one of those games that never made it to the USA or as a USA Remake. Or at least, I haven't heard about it.
So, what's it like? Also, does anyone have any screens for it? |
It'll be released for the DS.
*Nods* Although it's going to be in 3D, I've heard. |
That's too bad I can't afford a 150 USD DS until it goes down to like 100 USD. Trust me, making about 500 USD a month on SSI sucks.
Also, Final Fantasy V and VI are coming for the GBA, NOT the DS. As located in this month's issue of Nintendo Power. |

It's pretty good, actually. The job system, while obviously not as advanced as FFV's, is a lot of fun, even though certain game situations are definitely tailored towards certain jobs. The story's nothing to write home about, but it serves its purpose well. Fun game all in all.
Also the final dungeon has no means of exit or saving. Bring lots of items and hang in there. |
If there is any sort of Deity of Gaming, they will be putting in the original game (8 bit version) in there somehow. I highly doubt it, but I want to see the sprites that are the current LW in all their 8 bit glory.
If not, at least we'll finally get to see where moogles came from. The Wandering God |
Yeah, but I wanted to play it on the JNES Emulator so I'd be able to see the original graphics may even port 'em into my comic or something. Meh, I'll probably make avatars.
Does anyone know of an english ROM for this version of FFIII for the NES? |
Yeah, I played FF3j, a good game but very difficult
You get to fly many airships; You crash the first one to clear a path. The second is a combination Boat/Airship but can only land on water. The third airship (Nautilus) is like the Airsub from 8-bit theater, it goes really fast! It's required for a certain point of the game, I won't say what point though. The final airship (Invincible) is very slow though but is the only one with the capabilities to cross over mountains, plus it has onboard shops/inn and a fat chocobo to store excess items. |

*After continuing for several minutes, regains composure and slowly stands up* Dude, that thing is EVERYWHERE on the 'net. Seriously, about 90% of all decent ROM sites with a NES section has the English-hardpatched FFIII ROM (Whoever hardpatched the translation it has earned their place in Nirvana, as it's done damn well). You do not have to look hard for it by any means. |
