They're going to make the passengers heroes, because they decide to crash the plane just to save other peoples lives. A big lie since the plane was shot down, but hell how could the make a movie with the real story?

That's enough to not see it. Plus, we've had enough of 11/9 already.

Fifthfiend 06-03-2006 11:02 PM

Same issue as Flight 93. Wish I could still care, but I just can't. 9/11's been tarted up and whored out in the name of such sheer volume of ridiculous and awful shit that any kind of honest empathy or patriotism that its retelling could evoke has been long since wrung out of me.

Althane 06-03-2006 11:08 PM

Could honest empathy EVER be evoked from you, FF?

Just wondering.

Anyways, okay... why the hell did we wait forever (half a century or so, when was Pearl HArbor made?) to get Pearl Harbor, but the next big attack on America takes only FIVE YEARS to get TWO MOVIES about it made? Overcommercialization. I don't see why we need more than one movie, and Piggy Moore already made that damn movie of his, and that's more than enough. Please, Hollywood, just end the pain already. Jump off a cliff and die! JUST DIE!

It's been known to happen on occasion.

Well, Tora Tora Tora was made in 1970.

Still 30 years out, though, so the point still stands.

Piggy Moore
Oh man I could be wrong, but I'll just bet you're talking about Michael Moore!

Cause I will tell you what, is that Michael Moore fella, he is just downright fat, is what I will tell you!

Bells 06-03-2006 11:21 PM

I hope you guys dont get me wrong on this (im hoping i dont Say this the wrong way...)

This movie seens to try to evoke that "Braveheart" Type of feeling for a movie.. and even though this is basicly a "american tragedy" it Isnt Just about the U.S.A. ...

Its just a story SO deep, with SO much shit upfront, and on its backstage, that i think we shoul talk about in Teology, History, Philosophy and such classes on School and College... i just dont think that it should become a freakin Movie...

Althane 06-03-2006 11:27 PM

You're kidding. I mean, I sure as hell hope you're kidding, because if you're not, I just lost more faith in another human being (is it possible to have NEGATIVE faith?)

I forgot about Tora Tora Tora (damn, I really can't believe I forgot that. That is a badass name.), sorry. But y'know, my point still stands, because 30 years is six times 5 years, and that's six times as long, like six, y'know. (haha, I said six three times in a sentence, and it's funny because it's 666, and in the Omen, that's like the Antichrist...andI'mgoingtobedsoon,Ipromise)

And yes, I refer to Michael Moore as Piggy Moore for several reasons. DAMN that man is fat. He reminds me of a pig sometimes. And Karnak on BnG made a funny comic that rather badly put pig ears and nose onto Moore. And it was still funny.

That's not true. I just watched a documentary on the History Channel about a WWII filmmaker who made several movies about Pearl Harbor, Coral Sea and Midway while WWII was still underway. The Pear Harbor one was particularly hated because it blamed the US Navy and Roosevelt administration for not heeding the signs of impending attack.

I'm having a bit of trouble finding this information online. If I find some, I'll post it.

Regardless, I see no redeeming qualities about WTC the movie. Considering I only watch good movies in the theater (about 1 to 2 per year), they won't miss my business.

One wonders (this one does) if there is no better answer to Moore's theories and arguments that to ridicule his appearance. It just doesn't strike me as operating on the same intellectual level is all.
