June 6th
Everyone's so caught up in this OMG66six!!! thing that no one's remembering D-day. I say we all take a moment of silence out of our day for the brave souls lost that day defending freedom. I have friends who saluted at midnight, they made me realize how ignorant the media's being today. Instead of worrying about the end of the world, how's about we salute our heroes that saved it.

Good call. Many lives were lost -- soldiers fighting on both sides -- in one of the most pivotal points of the Second World War. I'll stand with you in remembering their efforts.
Also, it's not 666 -- it's 6/6/2006. Stupid movie re-releases aside, making anything special out of this particular date is just silly; though I suppose, as it happens only once every hundred years, it's slightly neat. |

I don't know the origin behind associating 666 with Satan or the end of the world or whatever. That's all bunk in my opinion. The only thing I'll consider today is paying my respects to the lost souls in Normandy.
I think people are going to do this kind of thing again in 2012. |
To be perfectly honest, todays date cannot be associated with the Devil/Anti Christ/Satan/whatever.
6/6/06 look at the last number. Obviously it is short for 2006. If anything, if Christianity was around at the start of the last millenium, people would be worried because it would have been 6/6/6. Note the lack of 0. This whole thing is preposterous. |
