Holy taco salad, I can't believe I haven't seen this thread. And the weird thing is, I had thought about an Oscars type thing for the RP forums just a few days ago, briefly. Okay...

Can I nominate multiple people in the say category? Oh well, I'll just do one.

GENERAL AWARDS

NPFer of the Year: Fifthfiend

DISCUSSION AWARDS

Master Debater: Archbio

VIDEO GAME AWARDS

Most Legendary Video Games Thread (2006?): Scratch that, I forgot the Spore thread was mine.

BOOKS AND COMICS AWARDS

Best Webcomic: ApathyMan?

FORUM GAMES AWARDS

Best Forum Game: Cementing NPF Trivia Game

---

Wait, what's the real difference between best and most legendary? :p Ah, here's the real stuff, Roleplaying! Too bad I'm not in enough popular RPs to get recognized.

ROLEPLAYING AWARDS

Best RPer: CallMePrismatic

Best Character: Darren "Darr" Llywellan, Stradia. (Pfft, I think he's hilarious).

Mintaro 06-09-2006 02:54 AM

Roleplaying Awards
Best RPer: TheBlindMime
Best RP Idea: Thanatos: City of Shadow
Best RP: The Invasion of Arias
Best RP Runner: Krylo
Best Character: Sebastian Hex In Thanatos: City of Shadow (You'll have to read the RP to understand why.)

Sweet chicken curry, I'm surprised someone remembers that thing. :O

Hmm...so 24 people throwing out there nominations on a forum of 5800-ish (yes I know there aren't 5796 active-all-the-time posters, just going for the dramatic). Is this one of those ideas that everybody likes but not enough to actively participate, or should I just add some more time for rumination and such? Basically, is there any point in extending the deadline or should I just let this die as is?

Flarecobra 06-11-2006 01:29 PM

Well, How many of that number are actually ACTIVE? You have to keep that in mind.

CallmePrismatic 06-11-2006 01:31 PM

Well, at least 90 people have posted in the Corrupted Wish Game, and that's been up for only a month, so I'd say there has to be at least 100+ active people in the past month or so.

More than 24 at the very least.

Let it go a couple days longer, I'm hoping someone will nominate me for a quote that isn't erotic self-insertion Star Trek fan-fiction.

On a less self-absorbed note, yeah, people probably just need a couple days to think of noms.

PS: Is it too late to add awards? I totally thought there was supposed to be a 'best thread ideas' or something like that in there. Under, I don't know, Off Topic, or Discussion or something like that. Oh yeah, and Videogames could have a slot for Most Convincing Fanboy. Also, it'd be hella easier to nominate threads if they were just "Best [random forum] Thread," instead of "Most Legendary." I mean I'm sitting here thinking, well, I really liked that Off-Topic Question & Answer thread, but would I call it legendary? It's kind of a high standard to reach. Oh yeah, howsabout a 'Most Likeable Forumer'? Maybe a 'Best New Member'?

ANYWAY

I totally nominate this for best NPFer comic.

Wrong on every conceivable level, and yet inexplicably compelling.

I think a deadline of, lets say Friday should be enough. Any longer and it'll cut into my freshmen year of college.

Snip about new Ballot entries
There was a Ballot Nomination thread. You posted in it twice. That aside, a lot of the nominations are based mostly on semantic wording that's personal for different posters. If you want to read 'Legendary' as 'Best' or whatnot I'm not stopping you.

Added. But, now we get to another problem...maybe an example of what I'm talking about will make more sense.

As it stands, if I cut off the nominations today as originally planned, the voting template statistics would appear as such:
Number of Starting Categories: 46
Number of Categories with Nominations: 35
Number of default winners (categories with only one bolded nomination): 17
Number of Dead Categories (no bolded nominations): 14
Number of Categories we'd actually end up voting for: 4

What does that tell us...I don't know. People shouldn't be afraid to agree with past nominations perhaps in order to second? People need to nominate in more categories? Once somebody is bolded (nominated + seconded) they don't have to be nominated again and again (Read: nominate different people)? I don't know, just something I thought I should point out.

Bailey 06-11-2006 05:19 PM

Maybe you should just make non-bolded nominations count too in the dead categories that still remain on Friday.

Also, in best comic, bold Mauve

I'm seconding her.

Krylo 06-11-2006 05:38 PM

If you're still accepting...

I second:

Most Helpful - Swibz (Sky Warrior Bob, for you heathenites)
Best Grammar - Synk, Shiney (grammar nazi FTW), and Lucis all (really, I can't think of that many people who couldn't win this)
Coolest Name - KP (Kneumatic Pnight)
NPFer of the Year - Fifthfiend
Best Quote - Furry Fifthfiend
Most Erudite - Mirai Gen AND Dasanudas
Master Debator - Locke and Arch
Best Poet - Funka Genocide
Best NPF Comic - Mauve Mage (and, indeed, the only light in a bleek pit of dark despair, in jokes, bad writing, and horrible humor)
Best Game Runner - CMP (though I've never played, everyone else enjoys Mafia, and it IS your fault)
Best RPer - TBM, CMP, and AB
Best RP -FFRP 1 (It was my first forum RP, after all. That alone should make it eligible for greatness)
Best RP Runner - Is it possible to DEnominate? Because, I really enjoy being up there and all. It's an honor. But, seriously, I don't think I've had an RP last past a chapter. I MUST be doing SOMETHING wrong...

I nominate

Best Signature - Everyone who has me quoted. You all know who you are... fill in your names here. I'm so goddamn awesome that you're all eligible in my books.

Best Signature - As above, but with Fifthfiend instead of me.

Most Legendary Off Topic Thread - That one where CT was writing NPFer songs. I can't be bothered to find the title. You all know what I mean.

Most Erudite - DarthZeth

Most Erudite - SithlordRagnos

Master Debator - DarthZeth

Best RP Runner - Ecurt

Hopefully that'll clear up one of your problems at least.

I originally wasn't going to do anything but sit back and watch this thread, as that I'm not good at comparing people to other people (plus you won't allow me to nominate myself, and you KNOW I deserve to win all of them), but as that you're having trouble with this all right now, I thought I'd lend a hand, and my (in)valued opinion.
