[EDIT]
Yeah, sorry. I was in a bitter mood, one of those moods in which every potential slight is percieved as an insult.

Oh, come on. We've all been there.

Mesden 06-11-2006 07:06 PM

(Edit) Oh, of course. I was in one the other day. Been like that for nearly a month now, actually. Just letting it eek into a casual thread with the view of elitist concerns is a bit...alright, a LOT too serious for this thing.

I did my duty in addressing you! Now, go make a discussion thread next time you want to bring up elitist stuff and junk. I'll be there just because.

I don't consider myself active enough in this community to make appropriate nominations. Many of the ones here seem reasonable, though.

However, I do wholeheartedly thank you for the recognition my few posts have garnered such that I've received nominations. I appreciate that.

I think extending the deadline would be good, also I'm sure there are people who arn't aware this thread is around. maybe send out some PMs?

Also I have a couple catagories I would like to see as well but I was just going to wait until next time to suggest them, Assuming there is a next time. They're pretty good ones too.

Well Krylo, Mime and myself Nominated you for the way you ran Terra, Because it really wasn't your fault it failed. It was simply that everyones story line became dependant on a single RPer who failed to update. It is how a lot of RP's end up sadly.

Also as to the elitest discussion. TheBlindMime is a Darkhorse, He dosn't take part in too many threads outside RP and as far as I know has only stepped into the 8-bit chat once. And look at all his nominations lol.

Oh come on, with that attitude you're on the same level as Solid Snake, except worse because you're adding a "Oh, what would my little old vote matter."-mentality.

Everybody has an equal right to nominate and vote in this. No one person has more of a 'share' in the forum than the other, especially in something like this where it's entirely personal opinion. You might think that you don't participate enough to 'qualify', but surely you have your own opinions on who would be appropiate for at least some of the categories right? You shouldn't feel like you need to abstain, nay, deny your nominations from the ceremony. However small you feel in regards to the community is irrelevant, because in this thread you, and your votes and your opinions, are as important and valid as anyone else's.

These are the awards of the Nuklear Power Forums. Your forums. BE PROUD!

(This post works great if you can imagine my avatar pacing back and forth in front of a horizon-consuming waving [YOUR COUNTRY] flag)

I mean, what about us long-time veterans who actually have places to go and things to do? There should be a "Coolest User You Don't Really Know As Well You Should" award. I'd win that.

Just because I have a relatively tiny post count doesn't mean I'm not every bit as cool as the rest of you!

...ah, if only I had Fifthfiend's rapier wit, so I could conjure a hysterical line to end my rants with.

Just say something about cocks. Works every time.

But nah, I mean, look at it like this, yeah, I have awards nominations, but on the other hand, you have places to go and things to do. I mean seriously, you want to trade, just say the word.

Look if I was going to come up with things inside of a deadline, well, my college career would have gone a hell of a lot differently, for starters.

But nah, I got carried away there, I think I only started out meaning to throw in like one suggestion and then it snowballed. Should've paid more attention during the balloting, really.

For what it's worth, I only wanted a best thread-starter so I could nom you for it. Really most of those I came up with cause I was saying hey, there's another person who deserves recognition, I just can't quite fit their special brand of them-ness into any of the available categories.

You know I don't even think I caught that we were supposed to be seconding these.

Anyway, I second Krylo for both categories above - NPFer of the Year - and - Best Quote - , and I think he's covered everybody else already.

I'll also nominate Ecurt for Funniest Forumite. I don't know, that dude always puts a smile on my face.

(Note: I will still kill you with my bare hands)

Also, Roy Mylote for best avatar. Cause I mean, c'mon.

.......

You know, if I were a decent human being who knew how to take a compliment, I'd probably stop here somewhere and say thanks to the people who nominated me for stuff.

But then, being an ungracious jackass has gotten me this far, so why mess with success?

... No, but seriously, thanks. It really is kind of touching.

It almost worked, but at the very end you forgot to say "CHARRRRRRRRRRGE!"

Mondt 06-11-2006 08:14 PM

I kind of interpreting synk's post as saying, "Hey, I'm not around here, so I don't know enough people/people enough to effectively vote, so I won't."

And I'm trying to say that there doesn't have to be a semblance of 'effective'. It's entirely gut, who you think should have it based on what you know. The scope of who you know doesn't, and shouldn't, matter at all.

...Damnit.
