First, the political parties. Now this?

The Netherlands are at it again.

Not satisfied with their recent political party escapades, now they have a program where people can send their loved ones off to be treated for a horrible addiction!

That's right, video gamers are hooked so bad... I'm surprized people can even find my veins, I'm so into this stuff. I smack up every day.

How annoying.

That actually might be helpful for people that really have a problem.
There have been deaths attributed to Video game addiction.

With the exception of the drug comparations, this can be very useful. Hell, I can't even count how many friends failed school because they can't get out of the Lan/Computer.

...

I was going to say that was stupid, but then I remeber the stories about "evercrack" and "World of Whoringyourasstogetthemoneytoplaysomemorecraft", so now I'm actually kinda for it.

Except.. what would you do? Play board games? (little brother suggests reading books, just not ones about computer games!)

Hmmm... never having suffured from an addiction (except maybe to this site? :P ) do you really have to replace it with some as equally as powerful/

Let me just say that people dont die from Video Game Addiction... They die because they have REAL problems, and THEY end it up associating their actions to a "outled"... in this case... a Video Game...

People have died from driving and by drivers... and yet they produce cars that go 3 tiems faster then what any law alows you to use and every scientist tells ya its safe...

On that Logic, every car lover is a sick person who needs to be Admited in a clinic to cure their problems... they even present danger to others!

Actually, I've already read(Long ago) that some people died after playing MMORPGs for more than 90 hours...But I don't know if it can be trusted.

Korea and Starcraft i believe. Personally, this is a good idea. I have lost contact with people becasue they are too busy on Starcraft, Warcraft, FFXI. I do know that Video Games is an addiction. Luckily it only affects a small portion of us.

I'd actually be all for this, if there was a treatment program on earth that wasn't roundly insulting to the intelligence of all concerned.

I don't know what it is about therapy that requires you to forgo speaking to anybody like an actual human being.

Don't mind me, just a personal axe I felt the need to grind.

No, but there are many people who experience various levels of negative effects, from social isolation to the inability to hold a job or maintain grades.

Just wait until the scientists invent direct neural interface. You'll get your deaths then.

Yeah, sure, but a LOT of things can do that...

Star Trek
Star Wars
Lor of The Rings
Animes
RPG
Card Games
Movies in general
Smoking
Driking
Gambling
Sports
Working
Eating

Its not so much WHAT is being done as it is WHO is doing and HOW...

They can pass a law saying that you need to have a consult with a Doctor every 2 months to see if you are "capable" of playing Video Games in a Healty manner.. it wont matter... they only are going to find OTHER problems on those persons, or nothing at all and sick people will still be sick people...

I Know i wouldnt like to see my Tax monies going down in stuff like THAT
