OOC: aside from the climbable cliff at the end of the catwalk?

OOC: We're running the other way...

With a thud, the axe buried itsef into the Por'Hui. It really didn't seem to care. The scorpion hissed and jumped onto the walls as it hurried after Kishan.

Kal's staff flared and he shot three levinbolts at it. Each impacted against the wall.

Then Kal had an idea, "Could you two keep it occupied while we run for the exit, and try to cut off it's tail?"

OOC: nuuuu, i'm running towards the exit. hence the leaping over the scorpion

Kal reached the end first.


Kishan was keeping it occupied by using a series of stelactites, ropes, and poles to jump around on via, and used random wall runs to get away.

Luckily, there was a rope at the end, which Kal grabbed, and jumped down, spinning as he did so.

He landed hard, grabbed his staff and lurched over to the barricade. And blew it in.

The group rushed in, and Kal yelled out, "COME ON KISHAN!"

Behind them were a series of dumbfounded dwarves. Dwarf leaders to be exact. That had been the king's private mine they'd just run throught.

And it seemed like they'd entered on a completely different mine as well.

He spun and said, "Sorry for the hurried entry your highness."

He fired a levinbolt at the thing. It missed.

Grey started to do laps around the room. "BIG SCORPION MONSTER STABBING TAIL IMPLODING THINGY! GET AXE GO CUT MAKE BAD THING GO AWAY!"

Kishan lept off the wall back onto the catwalk, intending to make good his escape, and figuring there was no way the scorpion could beat him to the end of the catwalk.

He was wrong.

It was standing in front of him. Looking at him.

Well, shit.

He grasped his scimitar, just as the scorpion ran for him. Jumped up, barely avoiding the pincers. Stumbled, landed with a foot on the scorpion's head. Kept going.

TAIL!

He slashed with his scimitar, and then jumped....off the cliff.

And landed on Kal.

Kal said "Mmmff" then pushed the unconscious Kishan off.

The scopion was thrashing, and looked very very pissed. The scimitar flipped in mid-air, and it's pincer shot out and crushed it.

It crawed along the wall and started coming in through the top of the doorway with stolen souls seeping out of the stump where the tail had been.

The nearby Thane grabbed his axe, waited until the thing landed, and slammed his axe into's its head.

Kal smirked, and sighed in relief. "Thank you."

"I'm assuming it was you that set out that warning beacon?"

"Yes."

"For that, you can rest here for the night, because the beacon summoned reinforcements. That are winning."

Kal fell back down onto his butt. His legs were burning.

"Thank you, your highness." Then he promptly fell unconscious. Mostly from what had happened when he'd hit that thing with his staff.

He awoke in a fairly comfy bed, and rolled into a sitting position with a grunt.

OOC: Post of what your characters are doing now. I'm going to go eat lunch.

The twins were where they belonged drinking with their cousins in the forge. "Well it doesn't look like much but I think this Maul could shatter a diamond. I put some very subtle rune work into it." James said.

"And you act like I did nothing to help you?" Peter said.

"Also you always exagerate your work." Their cousin said. "I remember that "Dragon killing spear you made. the one you said could pierce any dragons scales, and promptly broke ten weeks later trying to pry a fallen stone."

"A minor set back." The twins said in unison.

OOC: Once again I miraculously manage to miss all the action... because I fell asleep...
