Next Big Budget Book-to-Movie series?
I was looking over my bookshelf from before highschool, and I noticed one of the old series' I used to love:
Lloyd Alexander's The Black Cauldron. I thought, wow, this would make a great series of movies. There are five or six books in the series, and each of them is pretty exciting. So, I suppose this thread can be for suggestions of other cool series' of books that would make good movie series a (like the way Harry Potter and Narnia are being done.) Thoughts? Suggestions? Additions? |
I actually didn't care for Narnia that much, it was very tedious filmmaking.
Honestly though, the harry Potter movies are actual worthwile cinema *hangs self. |
If done right, The Black Cauldron series would make an awesome collection of movies. There was an Disney animated movie about the series...but it sucked, and should never be spoken of again.
The Human-Polseen War books by John Ringo would make for a good summer action flick, I think. |
I'm all for The Black Cauldron. All the books in the series are good ones.

Some part of the Chronicles of Amber needs to be moviefied. And anyone who disagrees needs to be shot immediately.
|
I can be shot. But what good will it do? I'm shot on site by any female with half a brain anyways, so it's not like I'm not used to it...
In all cases, I'm looking forward to Eragon. |
They could make some great movies out of David Gemmell's books. Anything Druss, probably some Skilgannon and definately Waylander. There is about 6 or 7 movies that will kick serious arse. Seeing a siege of Dros Delnoch would be awesome. Any of the sieges of Dros Delnoch would be awesome but probably the one in which Druss dies because that was probably the best.

And I second my vote for Eragon. |

I reject your reality and substitute my own! =O
Besides, I honestly think some books would make better animes than live action movies... |
