I'm just saying, when I say 'it is written', I don't mean, it is written by me, cause I think Peter Postlethwaite would make a very good Vimes. What I mean is, it is written by Terry Pratchett, saying he when he pictures Commander Vimes, he imagines him as being Peter Postlethwaite.

So, well, there you go.

Shit, next time you're in a Barnes and Noble, see if they have a copy of "Where's My Cow?" Written hell, it's even drawn.

Well, bugger. How do I argue with that? I'm off to pout for a little while.

Tho' realistically, would either Postlethwaite or Barrie get the role of Vimes, especially if Hollywood latches onto these books in a big way? If that happens, we could well see Christopher Meloni as Vimes and the part of Angua given to Jessica Alba in a blond wig (gods forbid).

Hollywood should not be allowed to get its mitts on anything that's supposed to be funny. Case in point: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. "They removed the jokes, to make room for more plot, which they removed for special effects." Remember how UNFUNNY it was?

Ender's Game. Not the Shadow Saga, but Ender's whole series, philosophical headaches and all.

Partly out of curiosity on whether any screenwriter out there can actually handle the stuff. Maybe the guy who wrote the Dune miniseries, he did do a pretty good job of it.

Well, you just try being happy about that casting decision if the entire rest of the film makes you cry with its badness. Please don't make me bring up the h2g2 film.

Roy_D_Mylote 07-04-2006 08:28 AM

I already did that. 'Member? Jessica Alba might not be so bad. The tricky thing with a Night Watch movie is Who Is Ugly Enough To Play Nobby?

Satan's Onion 07-04-2006 08:39 AM

He'll have to be CGI. He is, after all, The Nobbs.

Less frivolously? Tony Robinson did play Baldrick in the Blackadder series, this sort of thing might not be entirely out of reach for him. I dunno, it's hard to find anyone who I could imagine in that role.

*Sneaks around the corner, looks right and left* Animorphs. *runs away*

...Well shit. Why didn't I think about that?

Oh yeah, because whenever I mention I like Animorphs to someone, they point and laugh and call me "baby". But if it were done right, like the TV show, only with cooler special effects and stuck to the actual characters more, it would be awesome.

And of course, Shawn Ashmore would have to play Jake, cause he is just the coolest.
