More than 800,000 people canceled their AOL accounts last quarter. So it must be easy to cancel right? Not always.

Two weeks ago, Vincent Ferrari tried to cancel his 5-year-old account—he'd heard from others in the blogosphere that AOL customer service could be awful. So he recorded the conversation with a representative named John.

hahahaha! Vincent is a genius!! :D :D I love seeing companies get their ass handed to them by their customers.

It confuses me as to why someone would sign up for AOL in the first place. The only excuse you have for doing something as dumb as signing up for AOL is if you know absolutley nothing about computers.

That's awesome. :p

Priceless. I agree that it's nice to see companies get owned like this.

god, when my dad signed up for AOL a couple years back, i was in shock. the browser was horrificly unuseable, and by the time my dad got the sense to cancel it and FINALLY upgrade to broadband, the damage had been done...

when i saw that, i ALMOST pissed myself laughing. those bastards just got owned.

I'm willing to bet that the operator was just bored and wanted to fuck around.

I mean, there's something fucking wrong with someone who has company loyalty to AOL.

TheOtherWhiteMage 06-21-2006 01:17 PM

thats true, i have to admit.

Makes me glad that the only AOL thing I have is AIM...

And those free CDs? Great coasters. Ok frisbees. Look pretty in the microwave.

I made a wind chime out of AOL CDs.

I actually made like twelve, but the point still stands.

heh, It took me 7 years to get my dad off that crack that is AOL and finally get broadband. And now the broadband connection we have is overkill for our 5 year old computer. He took us from dial up to the fastest DSL we could get, 100 MBPS. I only wanted him to get the lite, but he went crazy and got the extreme. I love my daddy:D
