The Incredible Hulk.

Really what it comes down to is all that shit about how he's angry cause his daddy was mean to him, all that is gone. The whole point of the Banner / Hulk dichotomy was the individual's powerlessness over society as a whole resulting in anger and the desire to lash out, chalking the whole thing up to daddy issues kills the universality of the whole thing. I thought the Ultimates really got this right - what drives Bruce Banner to turn into the Hulk? Because he's a smart guy who works hard and does what he's supposed to, but deep down what he really wants to do is be bigger and tougher than anybody and beat the shit out of everything until he gets his way.

Also everything about Bruce's daddy's experiments because honestly the explanation for why Bruce Banner was turned into the Hulk should just be that he's Bruce Banner, he was there, and he turned into the Hulk. Some things are better the less you explain them. Again, it goes back to the universality of the concept, Bruce Banner as Every-loser.

Also no Eric Bana, because honestly you can't have a guy who looks like he should be playing Superman, playing freaking Bruce Banner.

For Casino Royale:

I hope and pray that the writing team from Die Another Day learned that not every single line of dialogue needs to be a witty rejoinder. (I swear, they don't talk to each other in that movie, they talk at each other.) Either that, or that whats-his-face who did the rewrite saw what was happening and put a stop to it. From all I've heard, they've taken care of most of the "X-Treeme Bond" issues the last one had, and I liked what Martin Campbell did with GoldenEye, so I trust him.

Oh yeah, and if they do a title song anywhere near as awful as Madonna's I will be forced to cause harm to someone or something.

For the coming Superman Returns: Take Batman Begins. Replace Batman with Superman. Done.

Pirates of the Carribean -

Yeah, the first Pirates of the Carribean was totally great.

I just have this sneaking suspicion, that the second Pirates of the Carribean is gonna suck.

On balance I'd rather that doesn't happen.

... In particular, I think they're gonna make this one All Jack Sparrow, All the Goddamn Time.

I mean the whole thing that was totally great about the last one was that the plot was pretty much balanced amongst the main characters.

I just hope they don't screw up the next Batman, which can be really easy. Making theJoker some random 'star' instead of someone fit for the job (see Mark Hammill). Or getting a different director. Or some CEO who thinks he has some 'good ideas' of where the series should go now that its popular again. Any one of these things would kill the next Batman and probably set back the movie series another 5-10 years (in effect killing what Batman Begins did for the series).

What did Batman Begins do for the series? It did nothing for me. The only way they can make Batman not suck is to replace him with a REAL super-hero. (No Super-Powers, not a super-hero)

So, because a hero doesn't have super powers, and instead relys on his own wits and natural born skills, it's not entertaining?

I'd take Indiana Jones or Batman over Superman anyday.

Fifthfiend, I believe you are right. They're quite probably gonna make this next one all Jack Sparrow, all the time. And it's going to be a mildly entertaining movie unless you have a thing for captain Jack Sparrow. In which case you're gonna absolutely flip.

Unfortunately, while this will appease many a fangirl, this won't appease all those of us who just felt it was a good comedy, and want more of that.

But, by God, I hope I'm dead wrong!

Comic Movies:

JLA or Avengers. Because they are the two most important supergroups in comic books today. And you could have the dudes who played Batman and Superman in their newest movies, and chick who's playing Wonder Woman from the new Wonder Woman movie play Wonder Woman. And you'd have J'onn, and Ray Palmer Atom, and The Question, and Hal Jordan.
