So today I'm happily doing non-NPF things, playing pokemon netbattle. I spot a user called "TheSpacePope" and think "Oh my, it's spacepope! Acknowledge recognition!". I pm the guy and it turns out to not be our SpacePope at all, but some other SpacePope.

However, it's not the first time I've recognised someone's username on different sites from the ones I first meet/notice them. It got me wondering - has anyone else ever spotted other NPF'ers on other forums? Or first knew a user on this forum from some other online means then got introduced? Ever get recognised randomly on another forum/game? I'm sure there're more connections between us all than a bunch of random people in one forum, no?

As for me, I see lots of people from the smash bros community randomly appearing on netbattle and various videogame forums. (I tend to get recognised a bit myself, which always creeps me out. I guess it's since I stick with pictish/pictish_freak wherever I go.) Never spotted someone from here anywhere else, which is ashame =(

But since none of you live in or near nebraska, Cept for fenris...

I haven't seen anyone on a different forum than this. Maybe because I'm not on any other forums.

I found a copy of me once or twice.

They are not as cool as me though.

Oops, really shoulda clarified. Netbattle is a highly used pokemon online battle simulator. Y'know, if you want to play it competitively and actually have some competition without spending 100 hours playing (and again and again) to get TM's and move tutors you need, nevermind correct IV's.. >.> yeah, anyway.

There's a Fenris on another board I go to, but that one's a female, so I know there's no way it's ours.

Anyways, i was playing WoW a week ago when i saw these 3 people grouped. And i'm not kidding about this, their names were Flarecobra, Kurosen, and Mashirosen.

A few years back, I was given a link to a forum (which is now non-existent, I believe) in which a user who was a fan of Life of Riley had read some of my posts on the clanBOB forum, liked my username, and decided to use it for herself. She even said as much, though the line could be traced via the links in her profile.

I believe some Spanish speaking individual also has a blog under this username. However, if you're ever asked, go ahead and tell people that's me.

Aside from those two instances, I believe I am successfully unique. Enough.

Aside from myself, there used to be a lot of BOBs here as well, due to the two communities residing on TWC for a time (I don't recall where NP was before that, and we were on EZBoards). I think one or two people from here or there are also sometimes around at DD's forum.

I once encountered someone from BOB in Planetside when I played the week trial.

Other incidents of seeing people online other places have been because it was planned ahead of time (like getting together on Battle.net or the like).

I think I saw a madhatter somewhere once. Can't remember where.

I know a bunch of forumites are on deviant-art.

Trust me...I've asked.
