Banned People

Is it possible that we can get some sort of notice or indication that someone is banned?

Something simple like changing their user title would be good, or maybe giving them a humiliating (and humourous) avatar.

IHateMakingNames 07-20-2006 12:50 AM

Banned people have red names and are given the User Title "A group of musicians."

Krylo 07-20-2006 12:55 AM

There's also the forum leaders list you can get to from the main page (of the forums), which lists all the banned people as well as all the mods.

Elbodo 07-20-2006 01:19 AM

Just out of curiosity, who thought up "A group of musicians"? Cause I'd noticed a couple weeks ago that it was on all the people who'd been banned and wondered what the heck it meant . . . and I just figured it out . . . and that is abso-frikin-lutely hilarious!

shiney 07-20-2006 04:06 PM

That would be me.

Major Blood 07-21-2006 10:45 PM

Speaking of banned people, you know what all banned people should see?

This.

Fifthfiend 07-21-2006 11:45 PM

Oh wow. I am so going to use that.

I wish someone would go and be, like, a total, unforgivable douchebag, right now, just so I could use that.

Are mods able to change users' sigs/profiles at all besides titles? If so, you could slip the ytmnd link in there for kicks.

And what does "a group of musicians" mean? Am I missing something here?

[Edit:] Scratch that, I just figured it out. D'oh!

P-Sleazy 07-22-2006 11:24 PM

I'm still not gettin it...someone wanna fill me in?

greed 07-22-2006 11:33 PM

Band
Banned

And yeah I didn't figure it out until Elbodo pointed it out.
Very clever Shiney.

synkr0nized 07-23-2006 02:34 PM

It is clever, but man, I did not expect people to have difficulty figuring it out. Homonyms! Well, not really, but close.

The ytmnd link was superb.

Death by Stabbing 07-23-2006 02:37 PM

Mesden gave the ytmnd link to me when I was banned for the day yesterday...

Mr.Bookworm 07-25-2006 09:34 AM

Quick question. Why are there some people that have "BANNED" instead of "A group of musicians"? I noticed a guy who had that instead of the usual title. Are they the people that are perma-banned?

Meister 07-25-2006 09:39 AM

They were the people who were only fake-banned.

"Were" because now that you know I have to go change it.

Solid Snake 07-25-2006 05:17 PM

Hey, now, there's nothing wrong with being "BANNED." It's pretty sexy to be able to post with the bloody red font over my name.

It's as if Fifthfiend declared war on me and, somehow, I survived the onslaught.

Fifthfiend 07-25-2006 07:52 PM

Naw, you just ain't earned a death.

... he shall LIVE AMONG you as a FREAK - God's only man spared by The Fifthfiend!

P-Sleazy 07-25-2006 11:20 PM

I don't know Fifthfiend. I seem to have only been banned by you for 2 minutes. That seems like you sparred me. Except now I have white texty.:D

Nikose Tyris 07-25-2006 11:35 PM

...something slightly more towards the topic; is there anyway to see what level of progression you're on towards being perma-banned? At one point, wasn't there a 4 strike rule? Warning/1day ban/2 week ban/permaban?

Meister 07-25-2006 11:55 PM

Three, if anything, namely warning/temp-ban/perm-ban, but it's always been at our discretion to skip any number of steps we feel is necessary. As for progression, you have to keep track yourself.
