ooc: na, he was shooting at any of them that came within his range while he was on the hull of the ship. He only managed to get one confirmed kill and winged several others, but damaging a fighter doesn't count. [ooc]

Kyle had approached the carriers with Will and (insert mech pilot who want along here). Upon calling for surrender the carriers decided to fight and Will was hit before he could destroy the turret on the closer carrier. But still, he managed to kill the turret in the end.

Kyle accelerated toward the second carrier and fired off a volley from his rifle and a couple of missiles toward the enemy's turret. Although his missiles hit, his rifle fire missed due to the freighter powering up it's engines and maneuvering to flee into the asteroid field.

"This is Koga, it looks like the last freighter is fleeing. Shall i peruse?"

"Don't let them escape. Concentrate fire on the engines."

Wayward nodded.

"I'm on it."

Wayward boosted until he was flying in line with the engines, directly behind the vessel and out of range of any guns it might have. He drew his machinegun and grinned.

"This is the end, pirate scum."

He fired.

Kansai opened fire with his missles taking out the auxillery engines before Wayward's machine gun volley crippled the main ones. "Captain, this is Panther. Second freigher's engines are scrapped. Awaiting orders"

[OOC]Dante, I hate to tell you this but your damaged and your shot was useless. Lasers have a range of 12/24/36. Our mechs are equipped with 10/20/30 rifles. That ship was moving away from you to boot, in space that matters when your using a matter weapon (no pun intended). Even if you got within max rifle range you would be out of it for a bit, best you can do is max missile range and you would still have to deal with the fact that the ship is running. And now I’ll post what really happened. Tis more interesting anyway. [OOC]

Wayward fired, and to his supprise the shells ricocheted off of the freighter’s hull. “What?” Then Wayward’s mech was slammed into by a lance of laser, knocking his mech into a drunken dance of stabilizing thruster bursts.

Kyle cursed as he saw Wayward’s mech hit, “Hell fire son! Don’t you know how to fight in space? You almost need to get point blank to a blasted fleeing enemy! Watch and learn pup.”

Kyle set his mech into overboost and began to close distance on the fleeing freighter. He made sure to weave and bob so that the enemy ship would have a difficult time tracking him with the turret and the overall impression was that a large angry firefly was charging a balloon.

Kansai opened fire with his missiles taking out the auxiliary engines with a lucky shot to a critical area, but unfortunately the main engines were still operational. The turret swung menacingly toward Kansai as he attempted to gain another lock.

Kansai cursed as the turret trained on him. He quickly armed his rifle and strafed left as a bolt of searing energy screamed past him "DAMMIT! Whos got the turret under wraps?!" Kansai dodged another laser and readied his missles "you are to stop or I swear I'll rip you apart with my bare HANDS!" he said as his missle reticule trained on its main engine.

Kyle watched as the turret trained upon Kansai's mech, "Hey! You should pay more attention to me!" Screamed Kyle over his com as he began to unload round after round into the freighter. Since he was at a close range most of his shots did damage to the ship, and his missiles tore into the armor. For a brief moment Kyle looked in horror as the ship's turret changed targets and began to turn on him, but then it shut down. Well, i guess i hit a power relay.

Just when Kyle had hope that this was over the Auxiliary engines flared to life once more. $%#^!!! They just rerouted power from the weapons to the Auxiliary engines!

"Cocky bastards!" Kyle was approaching their hull but if he didn't do something as soon as he got to the enemy hull then they would slip him off once they gained enough momentum. All the while this was happening Kyle was firing round after round into the ship's engine area, hoping to damage a critical system.

He turned his UCV and coasted back to the Dirk. He'd haad his fun, time to let the others earn their keep.

Kansai opened his comms again "Koga I have a missle lock. I reccomend that you move"

Erika's mech lost power from the shockwave, and she was up to her forearms in wires, attempting to get it restarted. "Come on..." She said, then twisting a pair togeather, she got power back. "YES!" She said, putting back in the wires. When she checked her moniters, she noticed that it was almost over.
