What're the worst games ever?
Since everyone here seems to be talking about really good games, how about a thread to complain about the worst games ever, those ones that you really, really hate. Format as follows:
Name of Game(s): System(s): Why?: |
I'll start.
Pac-Man, Atari 2600. Download the ROM sometime. It's blurdy painful. |
Daikatana, for PC. If you've ever played it, you know it's John Romero's personal prayer to Satan. Horrible game it is.
|
Worst game?
Easy. Secret of Evermore. SNES. Why? Again, easy. Rip off of Secret of Mana. Straight rip off. No question. Same battle system. The Storyline sucked ass. I was so dissapointed throughout the game (I had to finish it), and was dissapointed again and again and again... The game only has one saving grace: the magic system. It was alchemy. You used two (or more) items to cast spells, like in D&D, or Ultima. That was cool. Otherwise, it sucks. |
EGM(Electronic Gaming Monthly) number 150. It has the top 100 best game sof forever, as well as the 20 worst.
Their numero uno: E.T. the extra terrestrial for Atari 2600. there's about 5 million returned copies buried in a New Mexico landfill. :bmage: should HADOKEN that crap. |
Tie.
Daikatana and Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor.
|
Worst games ever:
Superman for the Nintendo 64. My god, that game was aweful. If you think you've played a bad game, play this one to get some prespective on things. Zelda 2. Such an enormus let-down for me, after spending so much time on the first one (I was 5 or so). Other than that...bad games don't normally pass the screening process. |
probably the worst game that ive played is War: 2410 for the SNES. it was like a turn based strategy devoid of any shred of enjoyment.
|
Has anyone ever tried to play Lagoon on SNES? Dear God, that thing was evil. Crap graphics, crap collision detection, a crap storyline, and crappy Zelda's-botched-clone gameplay. I spent $2 on a used copy of that, and I'll never have that cash back.
Oh, as for Secret of Evermore? Maybe it used Secret of Mana's battle system because SQUARESOFT TOLD THE DEVELOPERS TO. (I don't consider Square USA, the developers, to have been the same entity as Squaresoft proper. They were a subsidiary, and a short-lived one at that.) And I thought the plot was a good laugh. Not a good plot by any means, but still a good laugh. |
Ugg, Daikatana and Superman 64 mentioned in the same thread, the evil is pooling, i feel this thread being tainted....who has the holy water?
