Kanko the Terrified
 

Name: Kanko the Terrified

Class: Coward

Race: Demon

Type: Speed Demon (har har!)

Weapons: Retractable Bladeboots(a 5" blade is spring-loaded in the toe of each boot) and mismatched shuriken hidden about his person

Appearance:
Human: 5'8", but looks shorter because he cringes all the time. 130 lbs, Greasy, Shoulder-length black hair in a ponytail. His ugly face makes people think invariably of weasels. His ratty brown clothes absolutely scream "Got any change?"(in Japanese of course), except for his boots which are noticeably in better shape. Normal people who meet him for the first time are immediately disinclined to like him. Any flame within five feet of him burns blue, due to the odor.
Demon: Think of a hairless, red-skinned ferret with a ponytail and tusks on the lower jaw. Same clothes, same boots (he loves those boots). His eyes roll constantly, independently of one another, giving the (accurate) impression of terrified insanity.

Armor: None. A good coward never gets hit.

Bio: Kanko the Terrified was born about 1200 years ago to Toshiro, one of Takura's top generals. Needless to say, great things were expected of Kanko. He was given the finest tutors his father could produce, who unanimously declared him to be the most unintelligent thing they had ever encountered. Disgraced, he was placed into the 4th infantry of Takura's Demon Army as a common grunt. Due to his unique brand of cowardice, he has survived every battle he has ever been in, and has outlived almost everyone he has ever met. He now roams the land, running away from anything he perceives as a threat (fish and small mammals included), and insanely dreams of the day he will bring honor back to his father's name. He is at his most cautious when dealing with human children, due to some bad experiences he has had with mothers and their brooms.

Any Special Abilities:
"Belly Up": Three times a day, Kanko can make himself seem so nonthreatening that anyone within 100 feet will stop wanting to hurt him, because it would a waste of their valuable time to kill something so pitifully insignificant. He does this by curling into the fetal position and quietly whimpering in abject terror.
"Head Start": Five times a day, but not twice in the same escape attempt, Kanko can run away at 45 mph for six seconds, and only at the beginning of his dash.
"Run Forrest, Run": Due to his unique fighting style (or lack thereof), Kanko can keep running at slightly higher than average speed (10-15mph) indefinitely.

Kanko can only use the three abilities above if and only if he becomes terrified.

"Luck of Villains": Opposite of the luck of heroes, he is always at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong tool for the job. No matter how hard he tries to run away, he always seems to end up back in the thick of things.
"Changer": Kanko can change from demon to human form at will.

If he has to, he will use his bladeboots to defend himself against an attacker. This will only ever happen if he ABSOLUTELY CANNOT RUN AWAY. He is suprisingly competent with them, though not very graceful. He doesn't have style, he doesn't fight with honor, and the only battle cry you will ever hear is his terrified scream as he runs away after kicking you in the nadgers. He do this all of two times during the entire game. If you're lucky.

Favorite Quote: "NOT THE FACE, NOT THE FACE!!"

Extra: Despite being so pitiful, he is rather selfish, and also has a mean streak in him. He will pick on things that he know can't fight back, like the ground, or trees, or rocks. This is not a gollum-like character. There is nothing even remotely charming about him. This guy is afraid of everything, and he absolutely hates humans. I think he'll be more of a guilty bystander cuaght up in the conflict, but I'll label him a bad guy because he thinks that Takura is the rightful ruler of Earth, much in the same detached way that many Americans say they support Bush but really don't give a crap. This is just the rough idea still. I'm open to suggestions.

Your character is highly unconventional and quite interesting. I salute you. However, the quote might need changing... Kanko's not exactly human, is he?

Weapons: Carries a broad sword named "Yin" and a pistol.
Appearance: I am going to add pic of how he looks later, and yes he uses sunglasses.
Armor: Wears no armour since it blocks his spellcasring abbilities, but he has some magic protection, like a layer of force that keeps most attacks at bay.

Bio: After fighting in the Demon wars he ended up as a bounty hunter, though most of his enemies where mages he chose to learn how to cast and counter magic spells and powers, making him a formidable opponent.

Any Special Abilities: Can cast spells like a low powered mage, but uses his powers mostly for counterspelling leaving the mages powerless towards him.

Favorite Quote: "Come out and die or I'll kill you."

Extra: Has a very serious attitude, prefers to be left alone.

Hmm. I took a look at some of the other characters and realized that I may have given Kanko a little much. This is gonna be my first internet RP, and I have no idea what the rules are. As y'all can see, I've structured his Special Abilities kindasorta in the DnD style. I need feedback. Is he too powerful?

Oh, and Mutton, if you haven't ever done an online RP before, don't worry. It isn't stuff like dice-rolling or things like that. It's more like writing a story. If you need examples, look at some of the other RPs that are going on here.

Alright, I'm going to make the RP now, since Dante is on-line, which works in the plans we had.

I see one major problem with Mutton's guy... Why would he join a group of people trying to kill a big evil, or get near anything that moves at all?

I kind of assumed that he was going to be a badguy.

Even as a bad guy... I would think he would be more scared as a bad guy...
