Just saw this now... and man... this is interesting! Just hope that nobody at any military facility thinks that stuff like this is a good idea

those are not Metal Gears. Metral Gears are walking nuclear tanks. This is clearly a Mechassault vehicle.:D

You know what that needs? Paintball guns mounted side by side.

Also, that thing looks like I can just walk right next to it and push it. Or it'll fall on it's own. But still, very nice paintball "suit", if you follow my idea.

Mech assault mechs had nuclear cores for power sources, so they are like walking nuclear tanks.

That thing looks so damn rickety im surprised it did not shake itself apart.
I bet if a dude with a bat went toe to toe with it the dude with the bat would kick that mechs ass.

That paint ball idea sounds cool, but I would rather just drive around in a
go- cart and do drive bys, way more fast than going the 3 miles that thing was going.

That thing looks so clumsy.... Plus what was it shooting? Nerf balls or something?

But you know, it's a start.

They may be rickety, but tell me a prototype that was perfect on the first test. In 5 years, god only knows what type of walking metal monstrosity will be raining down doom on us.

Well we will know for sure it wont be this.

Flarecobra 07-30-2006 12:34 AM

Especally since that has wheels.

Though it does look like a robot the military is working on for high-risk searches....

No, no dear cobra... its The Start... OF DOOOOOOM!!

Also... Walking Mechs of war wont become true, because they are not pratical... a tank-like or anything with weels would have a better performace

For a Walking mech to work A-OK with would have to move to the same motion and equivalent speed of that we do using Skates... but without the weels... so, as a Anfibious solo-machine or scouting it could work

Flarecobra 07-30-2006 03:10 AM

Agreed. I don't see it replacing our tanks anytime soon, but as a scout or as an anti-personnel unit I can see it for sure.
