A story, page 3: Oh sure, blame man

You know the deal.

Ooooh!
A Chocobo and a Moogle make a special cameo...
I really do like the way this little mini-series is going...
Are we about to see the birth of Chaos?

Does anyone else feel a deeper message from this? I mean its clear that dark is like evil and the light is good, but is it strange that evil is using curiosity of all weapons?

Though I do wonder what will form from the released dark.

It's the shadow who asked what was behind the edge of the world and brought man to open it, so darkness was quite literally "already there."

I'd expect something about Chaos as well. And moogles do exist in this world after all, it seems.

Pandora's box, anyone?

Yeah, I know, it's really, really obvious. But that's why, instead of a ray of hope, you should expect something incredibly hilarious or ironic.

Darkness was already there, in the form of man's shadow. It seems natural that the darkness of the shadow would want more darkness to keep it company. Man's shadow took advantage of man's curiosity (and physical substance) to get the bag open to let darkness in.

I wonder though: if darkness could get in through the bag, wouldn't Trickster notice light leaking out of the bag and do something about it?

It's looking really beautiful--a great story, fabulous illuminated text, and gorgeous artwork. It befits a creation myth.

I remember hearing somewhere that in most belief systems that have a good and an evil, evil is associated (mostly) with pride. Of course, if you think about it, there are a lot of religions where curiousity is a sin, too (like in some versions of Adam & Eve). I don't know what kind of philosophy Brian subscribes to, but his creation myth is pretty much par for the course.

Wait so this is how the earth was created? Man was really founded like this comic says, and the shadows are the cause of the evil in the world not Satan! Do you know what this means? It means the bible lied to me >.<

I think the moogles and the chocobos where a great idea too add to the comic it added a nice Final Fansty touch to it that I really enjoy. This is a great creation myth I am enjoing it so far.

Though the people in the 8 bit universe probably do interprete that Dark is evil and Light is good from the myth based off what we've seen, I personally have a different interpretation, for now.

Light, in this myth, was the aggressor, and with only a short phrase that seems to suggest that it suddenly was we do not know the reason behind its attack on the Dark. The world itself was created from the Dark as well, from the wound given to it by the light, and it is not a surprise that it would wish to have it returned. The Dark is angry at Light for attacking it, and there is nothing that suggests that it would or wouldn't have done so if Light hadn't been aggressive.

I don't see the Dark as inherently evil. Not yet, anyway.

Moral of the story: There's always someone to fuck anything up.
