Joe waited for Syrphrin to finish talking before introducing himself.

"Sorry, pal. Meet Joe Black - that's me. Used to be a first mate, but I can fill any post on the ship, except swabby. I *hate* being swabby. I don't know who the cutie over there is, though she'd better be able to pull her weight... Just looking good isn't going to help much..."

"Do you know old Lucky John over there? I saw you two talking earlier."

Aras looked at the captain evily, having had his shuriken banned from use on the ship.

Did he saw using at all, or using on people...?

Inside Aras' head...

The Aras head watched the pirate and angel. The pirate started first. "Yeah me matey, he said on PEOPLE, not using at all! Go cut some things apart!"

The angel looked at the pirate evily, then smiled at Aras. "Now Aras, you don't want to destroy things, do you?" She did a sad puppy dog face.

The pirate shot a pistol at the angels feet, scaring her. "Haha! Sure he does. And capt'n said nothin' bout pistols! Shot everyone!" The pirate started grabbing all of his pistols and firing them in random places.

The angel, now getting desperate since the pirate was right for once (About the pistols), went for some guilt. "Now Aras, didn't you mother say violence was never the answer?"

"But she also said to protect yourself from animals! These ship going bastards are all animals, and you must attack first to survive!" The pirate drew a cutlass and charged the angel, swinging at her.

As the two little figures fought, the Aras head sighed and disappeared.

I'll just do a little of each...

Real world...

Aras looked around, trying to decide what to do next. His two new friends had left him, and now he was bored.

"Uh... we knew each other... it's a long story..."

Raj was standing behind him and said, "I don't know about your comment about her looking isn't going to do any good. Right circumstances, she could be a nice distraction." They turned to him.

He was upside down from a rope. "Whoops, didn't mean to 'drop' in. Buh dum psssh."

He pulled himself up, grabbed a pole and vaulted away.

Chasing that guy might be fun.

Aras jumped up onto the rope Raj had been on, then grabbed the pulled he had grabbed and vaulted away to where Raj went.

OOC: His shuriken can be attached to his belt, so that explains how he can keep it and do this stuff.

(OOC: I'm assuming that Dante was talking about Syphrin)

Syphrin's eyes darkened, "I can pull my weight just as well as the next man here." She resented ever being called useless, and Joe just might as well have called her useless, as far as Syphrin was concerned.

Joe shrugged and let the two lunatics behind him play among the rigging. It *was* the year of the monkey now, by some strange calendar he had picked up from somewhere. He turned to Syrphrin, sighed and bowed.

"No offense of course, miss, I'm sure you can do anything you set your mind to. Just that I've taken on a few female sailors in the past, and they were vain beyond words. I don't think you'll be like that. Forgive me."

"As for you, milady, I'm sure you'll be of some use," he said, then lowered his voice. "But its little use putting on heirs of not coming from money. There won't be a man aboard who doesn't know it in two weeks time." He adressed Joe again. "I should be speaking to John soon. And knowing him, he'll probably tell it. In great detail. And exagerated to boot. Add a couple of blatant lies, and he'll have the next naval legend fabricated for our listening pleasure."

Syphrin's heart sank, he knew! She swallowed, trying to stay 'in character', "Well, Captain. I hope you will not regret me becoming one of your crew." She said, as if what he had whispered to her hadn't fazed her, "I am no stranger to hardship, Sir, and I promise no trouble will come to you from having me on board." She nodded her head, "And feel free if you would like to speak to me more about such things..." She nodded again, then turned and walked to the railing of the ship. She leaned against it, <Oh man, what am I gonna do. The captain is gonna ruin my perfect cover...>

(OOC: it's kinda fun having my character have the 'acting' sort of mindset.)
