Quick question (8bit in portugese?)

Could I, giving all the credits and such, translate the comic to portuguese? It's because there are some friends here in Brasil who seemed interested in the comic, but don't know english enough.
If not it's okay as well.

Inasmuch as I have no standing whatsoever to make decisions regarding Brian Clevinger's intellectual property rights, but - sure, go right ahead!

Honestly I can't imagine a single reason why anyone concerned would have a problem with that, and really, it's probably quite a compliment.

There were even some 8-bit comics in French and such, a while back. Dunno what happened to those, though.

So by all means go to it, and please let us know when you've got something up!

Well thanks. I'll get started on those.

How do you plan to host them anyway? Image shaq or something?

Atikkus 08-10-2006 10:17 AM

Most likely.

If you're going to do all of it, imageshack's usefulness might run out before long. I'd recommend trying and finding something that gives you at least a user account. Of course, webspace and your own site would be the best bet, but don't rush things.

By the way, if you need the font, check Blambot. I think they no longer have the actual font, but ACME Secret Agent comes so close you and I won't see any difference.

Reminds me of my own translation plans. Stupid university getting in the way...

Atikkus 08-10-2006 10:45 AM

Thanks for the font. Do you know what's the name of the original? Maybe I could find it.

Meister 08-10-2006 11:08 AM

Pretty sure it was ACME Explosive.

Skyshot 08-10-2006 11:08 AM

ACME Explosion is the original, but people say it's impossible to tell the difference.

I also hear he uses Anime Ace for the narration.

My question -- how do you plan to translate puns and stuff? Just curious.

EDIT: Blargitude! Ninja'd!

Atikkus 08-10-2006 05:22 PM

Most puns can be used in portuguese. That's the good thing with 8-Bit, most of it's jokes aren't based on playing with words.
