A Mark Millar comic book being delayed?

The hell you say!

Roy_D_Mylote 08-16-2006 07:11 PM

So let me get this totally straight: Marvel's big summer crossover shall be delayed until past CHRISTMAS?

Well just fuck Marvel then.

(Cept Iceman. He's all mine)

A Marvel event comic delayed? No surprise - didn't it take almost a year for the last issue of Secret War (the new version) to hit the stands? Has Kevin Smith even finished The Evil That Men Do?

Roy_D_Mylote 08-16-2006 08:48 PM

Really, I think, that with Kevin Smith, it can take however goddamn long he wants, because he's KEVIN FUCKIN' SMITH.

Fifthfiend 08-17-2006 11:45 AM

It really does kind of boggle the mind the sheer scope of what they're pushing back on this, I mean one comic being late is one thing, but FF and Spider Man, too? Jesus, what's Marvel gonna publish for the next couple of months?

This is, depressingly, pretty much official Marvel Editorial policy.

The Evil That Men Do actually did wrap up, a few months back.

Sucked pretty hard, too.

Roy_D_Mylote 08-17-2006 11:53 AM

Maybe they'll make up by saying, "Here, Mister Whedon, write more X-men books for us to publish in the interrim, kay?" Or they'll do something about the state of Ultimate X-Men, and its sucking right now. Just maybe.

Oh, and someone told me Iceman was dead. Regular old Icey, not Ultimate. Verification?

Yeah, cuz Whedon is a stickler for hitting his deadlines...

As for Iceman, haven't heard. I'll keep my ears open.

Roy_D_Mylote 08-17-2006 12:53 PM

Hey. It's one thing for people to take an attitude around Kevin Smith, but you disrespect Mr. Whedon, I get angry.

And you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Eh, it's not really an insult to say the guy's got other shit going on.

I mean not that I like it when Astonishing X-Men stops coming out for three months at a time, but if your to-do list is, like:

- Write, cast, and direct Wonder Woman

- Pitch new, unbelievably great television series to network, make as many episodes as possible before dementia-addled executives cancel series

- Finish writing comic-book scripts for Marvel

I mean, sometime's you're gonna have to prioritize.

The difference here being that when ASM finally comes out, it's totally great, as opposed to whatever in hell TETMD was supposed to be about.
