#743: "That's a point. More or less."

Making the thread early so's I can get some shut-eye. Let's try to keep the banter to a minimum until the comic updates at 12am, hm?

Also, it worries me that these cultists are more internally consistent than the Light Warriors. I mean, the cultists are very crazy. But they're somehow less crazy than the Light Warriors.

Wow...
I wonder if good ol BM is gonna offer up the favor to read these so-called texts of madness since he would be somewhat immune to em I would imagine and try to usher in a new age of pain...
Or at least have the god try to kill fighter...
Try and fail...

Poor poor BM...
Never getting it the way he wants..

It seems so. And they're also ignorant. For a lord they worship so much, they seem to know that he's quite a "dread lord".

It seems like a whole application for-a-job process gone completely wrong.

I wonder if Brian is trying to satirize some of the sects of christianity? Because even though God (big g) is always referred to as a him, his gender is technically ambiguous. Perhaps Brian's just trying to say that if church folk were being honest with themselves we would say we don't know, as opposed to getting off easy by saying that were it specified to one gender or another it would limit the theoretically infinite nature of said diety.

Or I could be reading way into it because it wasn't quite as bust a gut as some of the other recent ones.

What worries me is you worrying about characters that exist entirely in your own mind.

But really I mean, it makes sense. The cultists at least have validation by group consensus as a stabilizing factor. The Light Warriors are all crazy in completely opposing directions.

I gotta wonder, if the process of making these cultists involves removing the head, were they this stupid/insane before hand. Or are the whole bunch of them unwilling victims.

I mean, from my understanding, the head is where most people keep their brains. So removing it first would incline me to think that the stupid & insane cultist here, might have nothing to do with the hapless moron who's body he's using.

Unless, by removing the head, the cult leader meant, removing the top of the head, so they could inplant the larva in the brain. Then I assume the larva would eventually pull an alien, and break open the skull.

Or maybe it's a plot device used to enhance the fact that the cultists are completely insane? I think someone is reading into this too much.

I can just see some comic goodness coming out when they actually try to do that to BM.

Tiako 09-14-2006 09:47 AM

That actually is a pretty good point. I also think BM is about to be destroyed by an Elder God.
