Nintendo to GameCube owners: Screw you.

As you have doubtlessly heard by now, Nintendo has announced the Zelda: The Twilight Princess will be released on Wii a month before it will be released on the GameCube.

I found out this little tidbit of information when the Gamestop automated system called me and informed me of this fact.

Now, I'm one of countless suckers who bought a GameCube for this game. I bought a GameCube for this game over a year ago when it was suppose to come out last November. And now I find that Nintendo is giving me the finger while, at the same time, begging me to buy a Wii.

Or, am I just reading this wrong? Because, to me, this seems nothing but a rather poorly veiled attempt to boost Wii sales.

I always expected it to be on Wii, so I'm not really bothered. Not like I wasn't going to buy a Wii anyway.

I'm surprised they're bothering to release it for GC.

Hey it is capitalism, man. What can ya do?

I mean it makes some sense because now that the Wii no longer has MP:3 as a launch title, they need to increase the appeal of one of its other two killer app launch titles (LoZ:TP if you didn't get it yet) and what better way to do that than to say, "No! No TP on Gamecube for you! Get the Wii and TP for that instead if you want the game that badly."

I'm not sure I'll have a Wii right away so at least it's coming out for us poor GC owners...we've waited this long let's just wait a little more.

This is a tough call: Wait for both to come out and then get info on which one plays better, or since I'm probably getting a Wii anyways, pick up LoZ first chance I get and take a gamble on the Wiimote. I think I'll wait a little. I'll probably crack in about an hour of the game's release, but hell, I'll try!

Uh, not to like...burst your bubble, but...sincerely, why the fuck are you complaining?

It's on the Wii. That's more than HALF the companies ever do. Look at Micro-Fuck-You-Halo-2-Fans-It's-Vista-Only-Soft! They don't give a shit how much of a fan you are - you're gonna pay those dollars because they like your money.

Seriously, I look at this and I wonder who the hell would be at all shocked or surprised by this news. Not everyone buys a Gamecube for Zelda. Nope, they bought it for the awesome games that're out there right now, like Tales of Symphonia and Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime and Skies of Arcadia Legends, Super Smash Brothers Melee and just about any Harvest Moon game and Wario World and Resident Evil.

Either buy a Wii or wait a month. While your face might break out in a cold sweat when it comes to choosing either route, it's not a tough decision to make.

the morale of the story:

"dont buy any games console solely so you can play one game!!"

Eh, it's stupid, but with Metroid (my planned first Wii purchase) delayed until next year, I'll just switch the reserve to the Wii version.

O RLY?

If you think about it, Nintendo's most succesful franchise after Mario + Wii Launch = $$$$$$!!!!

That sounds like logic to me. Are you daring to defy the logic? If you reeeeeeeeeeeeeaally want to purchase the GC version, what's so wrong with waiting three more weeks? It's not as if Miyamoto has you at gunpoint while forcing you to buy the Wii version: you still have the other option viable. It's not that the GC version was delayed: the Wii one is getting a jump. If Nintendo truly wanted to screw you over, they wouldn't even release it at all for Gamecube.
