Why MMOG's have jerks
 

Alright, I have no idea what makes assholes play MMOG's, but We could use a list to say the most bothersome thing that people do on them that just make you want to slap them across the face.

My most hated thing people do on MMOG's, and probably many other people, is the word choice. Yes, we get the idea the guy missed the shot, but is it neccissary to call him a f***er? or worse, a n***a? I mean, just because you have a weak vocabulary doesn't mean you have the respect to curse your head off. It's stupid <.<

It may be due to the fact that they can annoy at mass!? Why bother 15 people of a FPS when you get get thousands in one go? Exactly!

I try to avoid MMORPGs at all costs, namely because I'd click and have something happen, than click and wait for my character to do it and score damage based how long I've been bored out of my mind in a game, running around, MINING!

I think ass-holes go to MMORPGs is because on a MMORPG a person can call you a name and get away with it.

On a almost any other game a person can be a dick, get shot in the head then kicked out of the game.

The big question; how do the jackasses pay for the MMOs? We all know they're like fifteen.

I don't think there's any preference for assholes to migrate to MMOG's. An asshole doesn't care if he gets banned from a server for an FPS, he just terrorizes another one. That's the whole point of being an asshole really. Remember the equation:

Large Audience + Total Anonymity = Complete Dickwad

As for one of my peeves, it wasn't really a very asshole thing to do, just when people would use a certain game tool for something it wasn't meant for. Mainly, using a Party Searcher as an ad for selling loot, or an Auction House for LFG/LFM comments. Sometimes the non-party ads would greatly outnumber the party ads, which was frustrating (especially in DDO, where parties were a premium).

Easy, they all go on runescape! The only other MMO I play, or have played, is Guild Wars and it's surprisingly jackass free, despite the free-to-play nature of the game. It's a damn site easier to play a game when you haven't got people calling you "Noob!" just because you won't buy something crap off them for extortionary prices or some such crap like that.

I prefer to play as my gender, since 98% of the time I can't play with any of my other qualities.

I'm not sure whether they just assume and torment me (free stuff and help? HA!!), or they're genuinely foolish enough to hit on me (times I wish I was a GM so I could make their lives absolutely miserable). No. Not even on me. They hit on my sprite.

Most MMOG's reward time played over skill. So the jerks who put 1000+ hours into the game think that this gives them superiority and the right to berate other players.

...so I get called an ignorant black man by a fifteen year old boy because I like to have sex with my girlfriend instead of fighting crazy psycho rabbits with my Hume Thief/Ninja for two weeks straight?
