Goin to New York!

So ill be going with my family to New York city on thanksgiving mostly because my mom has always wanted to go to the Macys Thanksgiving day parade. Unfortunately I have no idea of what I can do around New York. The only thing I have planned is going to see Monty Python's Spamalot ( I <3 Holy Grail) and maybe check out the Nintendo World store. Anyone got any suggestions?

Go to Birdland.

I'm visiting a friend at college next weekend. She and I are planning to go to New York for a day. Not sure what we're going to do either.

There are always the standard destinations: Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island (especially if any of your ancestors immigrated through there) Times Square, Central Park, Grand Central Station. I wish I knew what less well known stuff there is to do though.

And I am so envious of you seeing Spamalot.

If you're a Beatles fan, Strawberry Fields in Central Park is a bit of a must-visit.

I second the jealousy at your Spamalot-related good fortune. Even if it weren't Monty Python, Eric Idle's a really, really good writer of music and prose.

There's a Nintendo World store?

I did not know that, somehow.

I'd say FAO Schwartz, but I think FAO Schwartz is bankrupt now or some shit. the San Fran store is closed down anyway.

Central Park is kind of nice.

Go to SoHo and get yourself some stylish clothes. Or, if you're finding yourself in a conference with your wallet, go to H&M. It's A OK.

Head over to China Town, that's always fun. Times Square is a great place to just walk around and browse the stores (GIANT MACYS!!!). Also, you can go to the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art and Madame Tousauds Wax Museum.

Oh, go to the Toys R Us in Times Square and ride the ferris wheel. It wins.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy...Oops, sry, I was thinking of Toronto.

Well, if you are old enough to hit the night spots I'd very much suggest that, but if not just wander; you can find the most interesting things just hanging out down there.
