Sony may have gotten the message...

ust days after the company touted its upcoming 1080p Live! update and external HD-DVD plans, Sony announced a price-cut and HDMI support for its base model PS3. While the price cut, so far, has only been announced for Japan, a similar cut in the States would mean a four hundred dollar base model with HD support.
Wow.

This is terrific news. I am so much happier now as a gamer.

Everyone keep your fingers crossed!

...

You know, that savings probably won't have as much of an impact on my purchase as it would for the rest of you. But if they bring down the prices of games too, well then, party hardy!

Not so fast...

Uhm, I'm not so sure if its good news, because according the link I've got, this won't be happening in the states. Then again, you article might be more recent.

And I just saw an article stating that the PS3 carts will be priced around $59, instead of the rumored $80 amount. And Here it is...

Oh & I gots your Sony launch titles right HERE!

It's that leaf.

I kinda figured that. We're essentially America's hat. It sucks.

Since I'm not paying attention, I have to ask, is the PS3 region-free? If so, it could still be good news. It's nice that they seem to be getting their collective heads out of their butts and realising that there's a point where folks won't buy something "just because it's Sony." Bodes well for their future.

As to this (and I'll admit, this is why I'm posting in this thread)

Hat's are supposed to make one look good. But you maple-leafers, with your health care and your bagged milk, you make the US look like tools. You're more like a bad haircut. Or, a really expensive, awesome haircut on a potato. Whichever you prefer.

Hey, just because we spend money on health care, education and the economy, and not the military doesn't make you any less loveable.

And does the PS3 come with memory cards, or is it going X-box style? Because I kind of find it annoying when I can't bring my file of a game to my friend's house and let him have a copy.
