With Aras on the enemy ship, and no direct instructions from the captain, Krim had swarmed up the mast, and now sat in the crowsnest in Aras' place. He called down to the captain, "I'll stay here and keep a weather lookout while Aras is galivanting about wi' his pointy things."

Shielding his eyes with his hand, Krim looked out at the sea.

OOC: *cough* shall i see anything, cap'n?

Not one to miss out on all the fun, Kia shouted "hey wait!" before swinging onto the Longboat, her scythe now put away and her Katana unsheathed.

OOC: Yes, me matey, ye shall. To the... uh... northeast, and heading westward across our bows.

Yosuke prefered to stay. Afterall, firing a bow from a longboat would be harder than from the deck of the Wyvern "Captain I will defend the Wyvern from any attackers making an attempt to board. Speaking of which..." Yosuke fired an arrow at an over-ambitious raider, hitting him in the face and sending him plunging into the water below.

OOC: there aren't any more scellians on board the Wyvern. They all got killed (only a few could have gotten across in the time it took us to get under weigh).
Edit: Ok, I'm going to take the initiative. I'm also changeing something, since I just realized, looking at the map, that what's happening technically couldn't happen. The first ship is ok, but the second is actually southward, heading norwest.

IC: Krim spotted the ship, south and heading norwest.
"Deck! Spotted her, starbord and heading for the River"

<Damn!> Brenu thought. <Can't let them get to port.> It was a known fact that the lakelanders would willingly arrange for scellians to be smuggled across Trinia in tact into their homeland along with any cargo and information they might have. "Lower the Longboat! Move to cut them off from port!"

The longboat dropped, and the ship tacked once more around. He pulled out his glass and turned to the dirrection that was indicated. The ship was still a far ways off, but Wyvern would have to fight the wind in order to to intercept its course. The necessary orders were given, and the ship came about to intercept. It would now be a race.

OOC: Just going to leave the three who boarded the other ship behind?

OOC: that's where the longboat is headed. Reinforcements are on their way. Don't worry, Brenu has enough of a sense of duty not to leave you behind (although with several of the PC's and a division of swashbucklers, you could probably take the ship on your own pretty easily, Scellians are not known as good fighters. Sneaky as hell, but not good fighters).

OOC: point taken.

IC: Yosuke was waiting patiently. It would still be a while until he would see some combat. He took a mental note of the Captain's intentions and jogged to the bow of the ship and readied himself

OOC: Thankyou tenjin for resurrecting this. I was hoping it wouldn't die completely. As for the rest of you, keep fighting, I'm going to *meanwhile* a maritime chase scene.

IC: The Wyvern was fast. There was no doubt about that. She was the fastest ship that currently graced the Trinian fleet. But Scellian Corvets were fast too. And were faster when fighting the wind then a Trinian ship. And it had more wind behind it than did the Wyvern.

But Brenu had the advantage of range. He needen't truely intercept the Scellian vestle, he need only get his cannons in range before it reached the neutral port. The tack they were coming in on would possibly allow for several broadsides before the two ships paths crossed.

Brenu gauged the distance as the two ships closed on their objective. "Fire one of the long-guns, a warning shot, give her something to worry about!" he ordered. Several orders were shouted, finishing in the shout "fire" and a resounding boom from one of the cannons. There was a splash only several yards from the Scellian Vestle. The ship changed tacts, now heading away from port, On a path that would not bring her in such convenient range of the Wyvern. "Continue on course, but prepare to come about as she passes our stern, I want at least one good volly in!" The two ships continued, but as the corvett passed the Wyvern, the frigget wore around, bringing its guns to bear. They were far away for a volley. Most of the shots would miss, yet...

As the guns went off, Brenu saw, to his contentment, one of the masts go down. The ship continued on, though at a noticably slower speed. "Should we pursue captain?" asked one officer.

"No, they're crippled. We'll over run them later with no problem. Bring the ship back around, head for the other corvett. Lets lend our friends a helping hand

OOC: Just a note, this all took place over an extended period of time. You should arrive by longboat before the Wyvern makes the intercept.

Yosuke had thought of something. He went and grabbed a small piece of cloth and wrapped it around an arrow. He ran down stairs and used one of the cannon wicks as A light before sprinting back upstairs and firing it at the Scellian's main sail "here it goes"

The arrow struck the mast of the ship, and began to spread. Unfortunately, this tactic was one the scellians were familiar with, and so they were able to put it out fairly quickly. However Yosuke had managed to burn a sizable hole in their main sail. (OOC: Sorry to rain on your parade. Its a story issue, couldn't let the ship burn just yet)

OOC: its cool I was actually planning to set the deck alight but meh, The arrow achieved its primary objective.

Yosuke looked at the craterous hole in the sail and laughed abit before frowning as they put the fire out. "hmm, dammit. Guess I'll have to start taking out people instead"
He readied another arrow and got a bead on on of the pirates quelling the fire.

"Don't waste your arrows," said Brenu, "We'll soon be out of range."

OOC: Why are we attacking these people anyway?

OOC: They're enemies, they worship a dark god, we're pirates, and want information out of 'em.

Yosuke lowered his bow. Even he knew the shot was out of his range. He looked over at Brenu "so what happens now, Captain?"

"Back." he said, "To help out our shipmates back at the Corvett."

OOC: I think its time I ressurected this thread...again

OOC: Unless we can get someone else to post, I'm afraid its dead. I don't know why people stopped posting all of a sudden, but...

OOC: It's the way of the RP, some go on and survive for long periods of time, others just fade awaaayyyyy...
But I'll post since I just OOCed here.

Corgan leapt off the longboat and said, "Yar, now you'll be dealing with 'Crazy Corgan', and all your lives have just become forfeit!" Corgan threw himself into a group of the pirates who had been stunned just by hearing his name. He tore them apart ruthlessly with his dual swords, and said, "Yahaha, now who's next? I got a quota to keep, cause the devil will offer you all a group discount when he hears who sent ya!" Then Corgan leapt at the next group of enemy pirates.

OOC: I was kind of confused with what was going on, but i apologize for not posting earlier.

BIC: Kia had been happily hacking some piraes to pieces when she saw the others returning in the longboat. These guys aren't very good fighters, but any help is appreciated I guess. Syphrin (OOC: hope i got it right, I might have mixed it up with the other rps we're in) had been holding her own quite well against the Scelian's but she failed to notice one creeping up behind her. Kia knocked the blade out of his hand before he could deliver a blow and grabbed his neck. "You know Syphrin, you should watch your back better." She then snapped the pirate's neck and continued to fight.

OOC: Ok so my character really enjoys her work, it's a healthy thirst for battle.

OOC: Where are these pirates coming from? Only people on the enemy ship were me and Ecurts guy. Your in a long boat came to pick us up. And Lycan said before that you should post about how your coming back to the main boat...

OOC: actually, I said feel free to post about getting there. Its all good :). Thanks for resurecting this everyone.

OOC: Oh... Well, I really doubt Syphrin would have gone along in the boat to go attack pirates and pick up to people... Oh well.

Aras jumped down onto the deck and waited, avoiding all attacks coming at him.

(OOC: I'm still paying attention, but Syphrin didn't go along with the others... so she's not really where the action is... So that's kind why I haven't been posting... ^^;; )

OOC: Those of you who haven't posted recently but are watching, could you please let me know your still in on this by PM-ing me.

IC: The Wyvern made the hard turn, and, still fighting the wind, bore down upon the target. Its sails were useless; apparently Aras and Rael had done a sufficient job of destroying the rigging.

The ships collided. Wood splintered, and the crew of the Wyvern lept aboard the scellian corvett

OOC: Ok, I'm giving this till tonight, at which point I end the chapter, either in death or triumph. Let the battle begin!

OOC: I had posting previously that I jumped aboard the Scellian ship (god knows how) so that I would actually have something to post about. I assumed that all of the others who didn't go on the longboat jumped aboard the ship with us.

OOC: Okay, now I'm confused. Previously, the ship weren't in contact. I assumed you were aboard the Longboat (if you weren't excuse me, its been a while). Let me say here exactly what's happened to eliminate all confusion:

Two Scellian Corvettes (we will call them A and B) appeared. Ship A charged us so that Ship B could get past. IHMN and Ecrut jumped on Ship A, as we left, then we noticed Ship B. A longboat was deployed to help at ship A, while the Wyvern went after Ship B. We managed to hurt ship B badly enough that it wouldn't get away, and forced it on a corse with which it couldn't get back to port without going all the way around a continent first. The Wyvern turned around then and headed back to Ship A, and just contacted. Okay, I'm not sure if that was even necessary, but maybe some of this confusion is over which corvette we're attacking and when. Whatever changes (if any) are needed to be made in previous posts, please make them.

OOC: well now we're all here lets get this thing going again
