Wait, Eragon as a movie...?
Wow, I never knew how far into production they were...guess it shows how far out of the loop I am. A trailer just came on the TV, and I'm sad to say I will see it for two reasons. One, it's so close to my birthday, and Two, I just love dragons. I still think it's going to be a crappy movie, but I will watch it if only for the dragons. It comes out Dec. 15 FYI >.>;;
How do ya'll think the movie is going to turn out? |
Well I'm not too sure about the movie, but the book was quite enjoyable.
But, we all know how that can be lost in translation. No way to really tell besides going to see it I suppose. I am optomistic for it though. |
I'm am unsure of whether or not the movie itself will be good, but I do know that it will likely be busy. I work in a movie theatre and the number of comments I have already heard about our advertisements of this film is staggering. Also, Can anyone tell me why someone would be willing to pay one hundred dollars for a cardboard cut-out that advertises this movie? (Its what someone offered to pay for it.)

Anyway, the book was alright, but fairly generic, granted generic seemingly cobbled together from several inspirations. Which makes it a perfect choice for Hollywood. I expect it to be decent, but probably not as enjoyable as, say, the Harry Potter movies. |

I'll have to see if we have one yet. Yay for selling promotional material! |
There's also a game of the movie coming out as well
|
I liked the book. I'm hoping the movie won't disappoint me.
Though... "Set the world on fire"? That seems an odd tag-line, no? |
Game: Thumbs down. Book -> Movie -> Game doesn't work well at all. It's only 1/2 worked for LOTR, and that's the most successful that's come to mind right now.
Movie: I dunno. I just don't know. I might look into it, but I like the book. Enough to make me NOT want to see this. |
Obvious joke factory
They already have this. It's called Star Wars. |
Watching the trailer made me want to read the book. My mom's had it for a while but no one has read it yet. I'm also excited about Pan's Labyrinth, which is coming out December 29th.
