You can't criticize me because I'm doing this and you can't do a better job!
 

Don't you just hate people with that mentality? Do you believe in this mentality? For example, if you're horrible at singing, and hear someone else singing horribly, you should still be able to tell them they're vocal cords should just be used for talking!

Also, if you're artist (as in, one who does any form of art), and you can't handle unhelpful/helpful criticism, then you either better get used to it or stop being an artist.

People who think like that tend to annoy me sometimes, but most of the time its easily dealt with:

Me: You suck.
Moron: Yeah? Well you suck too!
Me: I know.

Now what can they say back to that? "Well you suck even more!" Probably not unless they're five years old or completely stupid.

I usually just say "yes i suck... thank you for ruining my day."

And stalk off all angry.

Simon probably can't sing a lick, but he tells those stupid kids on american idol that they suck all the time.

There are times when it's okay to criticize someone, and there are times when it's not. Like in the middle of a battle. NEVER criticize your commanding officer in the middle of a battle, generally because he's got a gun out and he's usually pretty mad to begin with.

No one has ever told me that I sucked.

I mean, and lived.

I don't think it's right for someone to criticize unless it's constructive criticism. I know Simon from American Idol can be a bit harsh, but it's the truth... most of the time. But it doesn't make it right, because it's not really helpful at all.

I'm trying to become a better writer, and I appreciate those who tell me where I can improve. But those who make fun of others just because they can... that's not right...
