Fucking YES

I just feel like announcing this to the forums.

A month ago, I organized a head-shaving for cancer at my high school. I got eight other student volunteers, and set up a system where we shaved a teacher for every thousand dollars raised.

Two weeks ago, I started this. On monday of this week, we finished and shaved our heads in front of the whole school. Allow to me mention that it's a comparatively small school. The total student body is around 625 students. Anyways, in two weeks, how much did I raise?

10 000 dollars!

On my own imperative, practically on a whim, I just ran a campaign that raised ten thousand dollars for cancer.

May I have a hellz yeah?

Yay for making cancer $10,000 richer! Now he can buy that 'vet he always wanted.

Seriously though, way to go man. Shaving your head right before winter may not be wise though... (assuming you live in the northern hemisphere like a normal person)

Congratulations on convincing a bunch of high school teachers to look like idiots.

I sincerely hope at least one of them was a lady.

... Oh yeah the cancer thing, that's pretty good too.

Grats! WOOOOOO!

No, they shaved the teachers. The volunteers were probably to help get the word out and to do the shaving.

But yes, way to go, Darth!

Which presumably involves convincing a bunch of teachers to have their heads shaved. And, subsequently, look like idiots.

So as I said before, Darth: Kudos on a job well done.

... I am deeming this thread worthy of being moved to General, for reasons that are my own.

We shaved eight teachers, and nine students.

Two of the students were girls.

We're graduating this year. I hope their hair is back before prom.

Either I'm going mad or you editted both my and your post.

It could be both, though.

EDIT: I stand corrected by Darth. So either way the post works.

That's amazing. I have to totally give you major amounts of kudos for that.

It's nice to know that people are willing to give their money (and their hair) for cancer purposes.

Out of curiousity, did you donate the hair to "Locks of Love"? That would make it even more amazing (not that it isn't already)

Darth SS 11-03-2006 06:50 PM

Unfortunately, I couldn't.

We ran the campaign in two weeks. Hit fast then got out.

Being a mere human, I forgot about that. However, all 10k+ is going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
