Anyone else here think Fate/Stay Night is awesome?

As the title says, I was just wondering what others' opinions on this were. Personally I'd put it in my top 5.

PS Is it really based on a hentai game? I heard somewhere that it was...

Yes, it is.
There are three different "branches."

Yes, it is based on a hentai game. I like Fate/Stay Night but not as much as others do. I thought it was really good but I've liked other animes better.

So basically what you are saying is that in Japan, pornography is used as the premise for legitimate entertainment and art.

That is somehow utterly bass-ackwards and yet at the same time totally fan-tastic!

Actually, a lot of animes are based off hentai games. In the Fate/Stay Night hentai game they have to like have sex to get stronger while in the anime they just have to cuddle or something like that. It is implied.

Oh Japan, you boundless wonderland of madness, deviancy, and drift racing.

It's the same in the anime. They just don't go through showing it, as it's a television series and not a sex game.

Tsukihime was a hentai game, as well, but some people only know of it via Shingetsutan Tsukihime, it's anime incarnation (or maybe Melty Bloood, the fighting games fans of the h-game made).

Typemoon made both Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night and both take place in the same universe.

It's not the greatest anime out there, but Archer is one of my favorite all-time characters.

Too bad Aoko doesn't come by and destroy everyone involved in the Magi battle in F/S-N.

Sesshoumaru 11-14-2006 07:11 PM

I didn't much like Tsukihime, it came off as pretty half-assed the way they took so many shortcuts with the animation (more so than F/SN, which also had that problem), and they didn't really explain anything at all.
