Final fantisy tactics

so what do u guys think about nintendo putting out final fantisy games??Do u think u will prefer fruity styles of the game??

MasterZero 01-26-2004 10:38 AM

"Fruity styles"? What are you talking about? If you forgot, Nintendo owned Final Fantasy long before Sony got it. Ever heard of Final Fantasy 1-6?

And personally, I don't mind it coming back to the Nintendo. They made them better in the first place, and made the starting point for all the Final Fantasies by building all the structured parts that appeared in the later ones. Summons, MP, large assortment of weapons, ships, airships, animal rides, chocobos, job class system (ff5, thank you for that). And, I'd love to know where you got "fruity" from. Final Fantasy Tactics and Chronicles aren't "fruity" as far as I am concerned. Before you start your ranting, do your studying.

I wonder if he means FFT Advance? Now that he brings it up, I didn't know if it was because they were just kids or if there was some real gender confusion in that game's human class.

dragonglove 01-26-2004 11:18 AM

That was one of the few things I didn't like about FFTA. There was no gender. Even when if didn't matter, I would have liked to have seperate sprites for male and female characters. But instead, they just gave the characters ambiguous sprites and names.

Unless the press says that someone special is working on a game with another company, like Shigero Miyamoto working with Hideo Kojima for Metal Gear: Twin Snakes, then chances are Nintendo has little say in the game until the final stages. Take BMX XXX for example. Nintendo and Microsoft didn't sensor it but Sony did. Sony didn't tell them what they wanted until the game was near releasing. If a game has "fruity" characters in it, it is of no fault but the developer. And on that note, when will square-enix release a nice dark story?

Actually, the class system as we think of it was first introduced in Final Fantasy 3j.

You misunderstood me. I was not arguing that they haven't released one. I was saying that haven't released a recent one. To clarify, I am looking for tragedy and turmoil throughout. Like in FFVI, there were few moments where anybody was truly happy, even at the beginning of the game. Xenogears is also a good example.
By the way, was Vagrant Story any good?

Xeno14 01-26-2004 04:58 PM

vagrant story has one very confusing story. even the main character doesn't know what his past is
I liked the weapon system, but that might be because I found a sword/crafted that looked a hell of a lot like sephs katana, only shorter

Alright dude, I should hurt you just for how that question was asked, but I'm all about the forgiveness, so just try to type a bit more a be more specific instead of just using words like "Fruity." A lot of people could take offense to that.

Ok, away from the pc-ness, back to topic.
I'm glad that Nintendo is back with final fantasy. Though I'm sure that kids will be targeted by the games, because its nintendo, you can't question the quality. I always say PS2 for variety, Gamecube for Quality, and XBox for, well, I guess a few of you got halo or something.

Besides, Nintendo is THE portable gaming market. We need some portable final fantasy action. Tactics is good and all, but maybe they'll rerelease FF3 (FF6 if you wanna be technical about it) on the gameboy.

In the end, who cares if it sucks, just don't play it then. I'm not worried about the FF name being sullied.

Oh, good tactics rpg: Disgaea, hour of darkness. Excellent tactical turn based rpg action. Warning: Must really be able to at least tolerate cheesy anime humor. Hilarious at parts, just weird and embarrasing at others.

They should re-release the FF 1-6 on the GBA, that would be awsome, and clump the NES ones together.

BigBadBrad 01-26-2004 08:30 PM

Well When i said fruity i meant more cartoonish i'm just a lazy typer and hang around my pot head friends too much!!its just that nintendo always has the more child like games and stuff!!not that that is a bad thing i quite like nintendo!!but if u look at FFX vs that new one that is coming out for GC you'll c what i mean!!
