Possibility of more FF fare?

So far I've only seen a few things of Final Fantasy grace that have appeared in this comic which appeared in only other games. The island of Chocobo is one example, even tho RM slaughtered most of em with inbreeding and hack n' slash surgery. What about something like Dragoons? Those would conviently enough fit in with the final crystal, the Wind crystal. I'm sure enough the Light Warriors will manage to utterly insult their culture of worshipping dragon entities who grant them the abilities to jump into the stratosphere.

Elite Guard Hank is a Dragoon or at least looks like one. Carries a spear, too.

That said, Cloud Strife. :p

Personally I find the lack of Moogles extremely disappointing.

That's because Fighter ate all the Kupo nuts.

PyrosNine 11-11-2006 11:10 PM

I don't think Brian's thought up a good way to bastardize the kupo uttering freaks. It'll come when it'll come.

I did like the Chocobo thing, which was pretty much FF fare since Chocobos weren't in the actual game.

It's a parody of Final Fantasy 1.

What do you want?

Personally, I was brought here because of nostalgia and the idea of watching other people's fanfictions about the vague story of FF1 and how it works out.

Bringing too much of the overall FF world would destroy the essence at the heart of the story and plot idea. In fact, the fame of Black Mage and the recent failure of the comic to really be as great as it has been in the past is a shining example of how leaving too much of the original concept behind can ruin a good idea. Hopefully, reasons behind the BM character will bring the plot around, but dragoons will not. Dragoons, chocobos, moogles and the like should only be bit jokes that occur in the FF world. Any further mention of them, aspecially as any main plotline, would be a bastardization of the story, and any more bastardization might be too much for me, as it has already been to much for many readers.

Brian's comic, Brian's rules.

Anyway, I love how if one looks back in the comics, you'll find some pop-culture referances, like in the early days with the Simpson's. And with this being a FF comic, he's going to put in FF jokes, like how Phoenix Downs can at times decide to be picky. (SPOILERS) Like Galuf in FF5, they used one on him after his solo fight with Exdeath, but he still died. Besides, he's still got quite a ways to go before it ends. I'd wait until a little before the final battle before complaining about jokes that were never used.

There should be something about masamune. Like, Fighter reads the fighter equivalent of the thief's almanac that tells about an amazingly powerful sword, that can be wielded by anyone, no matter how crappy with a sword said person is... Then Fighter sets out on a quest to get it and ends up doing something really, really naive. And we haven't seen any of them complaining about only being able to have 3 spells of each level... Not to mention the fact that Fighter and Thief now have access to white magic and black magic, respectively.

Flarecobra 11-12-2006 09:06 PM

Well, Thief said that he doesn't know any Magic....so we might or might not see him use it.

The class change seems more like FF3 than FF1, so I think neither the Knight nor Ninja know spells
