The whole Z.O.E series.

For anyone who doesn't know what the hell I'm talking about, Z.O.E is short for Zone Of The Enders, a cool mecha game series which has seen two installments on the PS2 and one GBA game. The two PS2 games are action mechas, in which you as Jehuty fly around smashing up unlucky enemy 'bots and listening to your pilot whine in between robot smashing They The two PS2 games were incredbly fluid, had great graphics, good music and were just awesome. Well, the second one was.

The GBA one on the other hand was a turn-based strategy title that had little connection to the PS2 games and had a game breaking mechanic which allowed you to dodge every single hit ever. No joke.

So, any other ZOEites here?

I wouldn't call myself a ZOEite, but I've played the two PS2 titles and seen some of the anime. I liked the art style of the games, it had a cool neon mecha vibe, and the gameplay was pretty good, it could've been better but it was fun. I didn't like the story though, the jump in characters between the two games was lame.

I only ever played the first one but I thought it was pretty cool. I LOVED the fight with Neith in the warehouse!

It could have been better though. The secondary weapons were redundant and pathetic. Literally all you needed to do to win was hack up enemies with the sword and occasionaly mix it up with that charged energy ball/multi-missile attack.

And the ability to pick up and throw enemies was also useless.

But I like hacking up giant robots with a flying, sword wielding mech!:D

The second one did all of that so much better. It got rid of all the useless sub-weapons, ditched the ammo system and let you alter Jehuty's sword attack slightly. Also that big energy ball attack looks damn sweet. Pick it up if you ever see it, I recommend it.

The Gameboy game was very easy if you have the whole attack and evade thing on manual and evaded by moving in a sort of oval. I got through most missions without getting hit once and I'd say about 30 to 40% of my attacks were critical hits.

ZoE 2 is just plain awesome. If only they had those kinds of battles in the first game. But I guess Jehuty had to mature its way up to taking on that kind of opposition.

What I love about ZoE II is that it's basically a perfect sequel. Everything that wasn't great about the first one was taken out, and everything that made the first one great was enhanced.

Its a fun Mecha game that's not too hard and just is good mindless shooting fun. Also gives you multiple play styles. And its one of those games that is short enough so you feel like playing it a few times isn't a chore.

Oh yeah, and Ken is fricken hot.

I liked since it was on the PS1 and it was called Omega boost =P

But ZOE is indeed better at everything !

I remeber Omega Boost! I never realised it was ZOE though.

The only thing I wanted in ZOE1 though was the ability to control Anubis. When he appears right at the end and you simply CANNOT beat him, while he teleports around was so cool! I wanted that teleport ability. I think you aquire that in the sequel though, right? Was it any good when you get it?

Yeah, you do near the end. It's a great ability to have, and it can get you away in a hurry.
