Long-Haired Narcissist 11-14-2006 10:41 PM

Personal style

What is your style?

I usually wear jeans and a polo shirt or a band t-shirt with a dark-colored longsleeve shirt underneath with a pair of Vans on. I have a cap on my head most of the time too.

FighterFlight 11-14-2006 11:28 PM

Denim shorts, assuming I can find some that cover my knees, don't look ghetto, don't look like they're already ready to throw away, and don't have absurd colors and logos covering them.

If I wear anything other than that, it's:
1. Sneakers or work boots (Depending on whether I'm working or sneaking), a
2. T-Shirt. Usually my T-Shirt is green.
3. Socks. Tall socks that are rolled down, not short stupid socks.
4. A Belt. Black. But not a "Black Belt."
5. Bling. That is, a silver chain that can't be seen unless my shirt is off, and a shiny silver watch that can't be seen unless I'm not wearing a sweater that covers my wrists.

6. I do not wear sweaters of any kind. Ever.

Chipper173 11-15-2006 12:14 AM

1. Jeans. At all times. I have about three pairs I rotate out, one of which is cordoroy. I have several emergency pairs in case one of the three is unable to do its duty.
2. Long black socks. Always.
3. T-shirt of some sort. I have a bunch. 8BT shirt, MC Frontalot shirt, Marathon, 'Fight the Flood', Good Dog, Punisher, Vote for Pedro...I got a bunch.
4. Depending on the weather, possibly a sweatshirt. If it's cold, one of my patented Rock Monarchy zipper hoodies (I have 2). Cool-ish, my grey open sweatshirt, so I can still show off the front of whatever shirt I'm wearing. Warm, no sweatshirt at all. The sweatshirt may come off once I arrive at wherever I'm going.
5. Maybe a Battlestar Galactica wristband. I don't even watch the show, but I need to show I'm a nerd somehow. Might not wear it if I plan to play my guitar soon (palm muting gets annoying when that darn wristband keeps getting in your way).
6. Hat only if it's snowing or if I'm at a con.

That's about it.

Azisien 11-15-2006 12:33 AM

I'm usually naked, but I occasionally wear my "Frak Off" t-shirt in my Philosophy of Women's Studies course, because those feminists should do JUST that.

Okay okay, I usually wear jeans, two pair swap throughout the weekdays, and two khakis for slightly more formal outings. Almost always t-shirts, and something slightly heavier these days over top because it's mid-November in Canada.

Nikose Tyris 11-15-2006 12:37 AM

I'm INFAMOUS now for Blue dress shirts and Black dress pants, with my Black leather boots, and black leather belt. I wear my Gold and Star Sapphire ring almost everywhere. On occasion I wear a pair of shades my woman got me.
I keep my hair slicked back in a style all my own.

On other days, I wear Jeans, or nothing at all if left alone in my room.

PyrosNine 11-15-2006 12:41 AM

A T-shirt, some loose fitting pants (because I've yet to find a damned size that'll fit me) with big pockets, a bucket hat, and a pair of Timberland boots.

I keep my hair hang down and the most jewelry I'll wear is a watch and have the handstrap to my DS hang out of my pocket.

I'm minimalistic in terms of style. What my clothes scream (mumble?) is "...Eh."

Colors I wear alot of are brown, green, and blue, with the occasional black. Lately I have been wearing a yellow FLCL T-shirt, just for variety and how damned cool the design is.

Death by Stabbing 11-15-2006 01:01 AM

Jeans mostly
sometimes socks...
Usually a t-shirt of a nerd thing...such as the Spider-Man shirt I'm wearing right now...or a shirt of a band...some times a button down shirt...or a shirt of a sports team I like..sometimes my college's shirt...and occasionally just random ass shirts I have like my "Bloodfest" Blood Drive shirt...that shirt rules...also I have random jackets I wear but usually it's my college one...It's a sweet zipper hoodie...Sometimes I wear a belt...I have one made out of hemp that I'm fond of...also a big black one...I have acouple of belt buckles for that...if you ever want to give me a gift I need more belt buckles...I didn't get this sweet ass Rolling Stones one this one time...damn...

Oh and I usually have a baseball style hat on...but I have been known to wear a British driving cap...and some times other random hats...

I always have my cross and licence to kill the undead on my neck...my licence is actually this round circle thing with the symbol of the Medji in the Mummy movies on it...It's...hard to describe...also I always have my class ring on my right ring finger and until it lost a piece I had a silver and gold braclet on my right wrist...I have an old timex on my left wrist...
I have a couple different pairs of shoes...

That's it I guess...

DBS

Skyshot 11-15-2006 01:07 AM

Informal: Blue jeans with black braided belt, fairly cheap blue t-shirt (various hues, but all of them blue), brown running shoes I picked out because they were ugly.

Formal: Black long-sleeved dress shirt, black dress pants with the aforementioned belt, black socks, black dress shoes. Extra special occasions (i.e. weddings) call for a white dress shirt instead.

BlackMageGirl! 11-15-2006 01:29 AM

Mostly Jeans, but sometimes I throw a skirt on when prompted to do so.

Usually I wear tight shirts, but work doesn't like that too much so a T-shirt is my main accessory.

Uhm, shoes too. And...yeah. Basically, I dress to not be noticed.

Flarecobra 11-15-2006 01:49 AM

Whatever I grab that's clean. :P Usually a dark-colored T-shirt, jeans if it's cool out, otherwise shorts. If it's cold, then I have a denem jacket that I wear. As for footwear, I usually wear the civvie version of my cammie boots. Otherwise, tennis shoes.

greed 11-15-2006 01:49 AM

Alone, generally a towel or boxers.

Around the house or with friends, ancient cargo shorts that started off as three quarters and now are a bit above the knees simply becuase they are the most fucking comfortable thing in existence, and a t-shirt.

In public: Jean/surf shorts, jeans if it's cold or a bit formal, collared short sleeve, jacket if it rains/hails or actually gets cold enough that I can't wear something short sleeved.

Formal: Fancier jeans and short sleeved shirts. Haven't had the need for anything more formal in over a decade, no one I know's died or got married and my job's have all been manual labour oriented.

Colours for everything are blue, green, black or white. Only colours a pale red head can wear really.

Major Blood 11-15-2006 01:54 AM

Something like what this guy is wearing.

Sir Pinkleton 11-15-2006 02:33 AM

Shorts (Yes, in winter as well. Why? It's more fun that way).
T-shirt (unless it's like a school dance or something).
Camo jacket (not so unusual, two other people at school have the exact same one).
Holey socks.
Torn up sneakers (When the rubber comes off, it's a moccasin!)

Honestly, some of you people could've said SOMETHING different/interesting, but all I really saw was either: jeans or boxers/nude.

Crodevillian Team 11-15-2006 04:15 AM

Ah, style. If only the world would give me a brush and allow me to paint the masses in various shades of Crodevillian Cool.

Due to proximity and sheer uniqueness, I've gotten most of my clothes from Harajuku and Ginza. Before that, it was stores from overseas with web sites. I've said it before, but it bears repeating, the vast majority of American fashion can be summed up with the phrase "lacking," which isn't a phrase at all until I attach "severely," and even then I don't know if that necessarily constitutes a phrase.

The above is said with all the arrogance and snobbery I can possibly fit into one post without resorting to actually splitting it into two. People often do themselves a disservice by not paying enough attention to their fashion.

Stomphoof 11-15-2006 09:25 AM

Days Off - Jeans, T-shirt, Sandals.

Working - Slacks, Polo Shirts, Stompin Boots.

CelesJessa 11-15-2006 09:26 AM

Normally, I just usually wear whatever I feel like wearing. Some days I wear jeans and a t-shirt, and some days I wear a turtleneck with a brown over sweater thing (I like that outfit), but I usually can be see in jeans (although I like my black pants too).

To dress up: On the fancier side, Black almost pin-striped blouse and black pants with my awesome black shoes. (I love my black shoes) When the occasion just calls for a little nicer, I usually wear a nice sweater or something like that.

Yeah, my style is pretty boring too, but oh well.

mammothtank 11-15-2006 10:13 AM

I wear t-shirts a lot, and when it's cold I have a red fleece jacket I wear almost all the time. I never zip it up though; that defeats the purpose of wearing cool t-shirts. I also always wear jeans.

Come to think of it, I really need new shoes. These sneakers are quite old and dirty.

MB: A duster? Cool.

Domon 11-15-2006 11:22 AM

I wear either jeans or dress pants.
t-shirt or dress shirt(button up long sleeve)
Umbrella corperation jacket or grey jacket.
my fav t-shirt says LIFE! Still a poor substitute for videogames.

yeah at this moment Im rocking jeans, dress shirt, both jackets(friggen cold/wet out) and last time I looked in a mirror my hair went WHAKA all over the place.

Selfish 11-15-2006 11:28 AM

Ah.

Usually suits. Always with the suit. I am THE SUIT. This is at work.

At home - if I am alone, the pajama queen or robemaiden.
When I have my peeps around, dresspants and blouse. Not quite so formal as the suit, and I actually add colour to it. My clothes tend to be black, white, or some non offensive print for the blouse.

I present a very hard self to the world. Tends to protect me.

Steel Shadow 11-15-2006 11:39 AM

Jeans and whatever else I find in the wardrobe/floor that keeps me warm. It's good for all ocasions.

katsielyonz 11-15-2006 11:57 AM

Major Blood: I swear to god I have that same black coat. It has the latches buttons and everything. Just smaller. (I should post a pic of it but I'm too lazy). I typically wear a pair of overworn jeans with designs I've drawn/painted on and holes and whatnot with a nice pressed button down or a cute t-shirt. I don't wear any kind of jewelry (My skin turns colors with any kind of metal. I wore a platinum ring one time and my whole finger was green and blue o.0). And either a pair of flip-flops or tennis shoes.

Loyal 11-15-2006 03:26 PM

When I'm not at home, and when the weather isn't very cold, or very hot, I always wear a black jacket with azure stripes. There's also the lanyard that I've had since 8th grade which I also wear at all times outside the house.

Other than that... nothing special. It's enough so that people will automatically recognize me if they see me, but not so much that the very sight of it burns into your memory.

Demetrius 11-15-2006 11:19 PM

I enjoy my black leather shoes with big silver buckles, they rock pretty hard. I am usually in jeans, because I work in an industrial area and steel toed shoes (only if a boss is around). Other than that it's usually a polo shirt or button down patterned shirt so I can remain semi professional looking.

Weekends are another matter, I have a pair of blue and white floral printed jams and various brightly colored shirts that jar the optical nerve and an army helmet with ballistic goggles I like to sport while drinking. Oh and my beard, I love my beard it keeps my face warm and fuzzy. Weekends also mean crocs, I wear them to my weekend job at a restaraunt and run 'em through the dishwasher at the end of my shift and keep wearing 'em till I pass out.

See, if you've got a little money to throw around, baby is really the way to go on that. Beats the hell out of your bargain basement 97-year-old stuff.

You know, unless you're wanting to look all educated or something.

Now now, stress makes wrinkles...and I-I mean WE wouldn't want that, now would we? ~_^

Fifthfiend 11-16-2006 10:15 AM

Christ, one innocent question about fashion, and all of a sudden we're knitting sweaters from the flesh of the weak?

I knew you guys wouldn't let me down.

... Except for you, POS. Except for you.

(As for myself, I'm a fan of white oxford shirts, neck open, with a crewneck underneath, sleeves turned up crisp to the shoulders if it's a sunny one. A neat pair of slacks, maybe jeans if I want to roll that way - and never pre-faded, cause I put that wear in 'em for myself, and my black dress belt - nothing fancy, but dignified. And the old black Vans, cause feet gots to keep happy.)

Red Fighter 1073 11-16-2006 09:26 PM

I usually like to go with sports kinds of clothes like jerseys and logo'd t-shirts. With that, I wear either long gym shorts or some type of jeans or khakis. I really love American Eagle pants. They have some amazing fit and quality to them which really works well. And seeing how Abercrombie's khakis are so screwed up with their weird button up system instead of using a zipper.. Besides that, I usually wear short sleeved striped polos.

With those clothes I now almost always wear my new Kobe Bryant's Crazy 8 Basketball Shoes. They're definetely the best shoes I have ever bought!

Apparently yes, it does!

pochercoaster 11-28-2006 06:41 PM

Recently, I have become guilty of wearing sweatpants on lazy days. On average days, it's usually jeans with a tanktop or long t-shirt with a sweater or jacket. Skirts in warm weather. On better days, I wear a blazer. I'm also a fan of boots, but not of the pain that accompany them. I always wear a watch (a necessity) and usually some jewellery.

handofpwn 11-28-2006 08:11 PM

Blue pants for life!
I usually wear blue jeans and a tshirt, a zip up hoodie (i find that theyre more versatile) and a thin chain and a watch. Old run down sneakers, and socks that i cut to make them shorts. I like my pants loose. Pretty much i wear just about anything that looks lived in, as long as it conforms to the above rules.

Zeryo 11-29-2006 10:30 PM

Party clothes: Jeans, a baby blue tshirt, a burlap sack that says corona, my corona straw hat, shell necklace with a cigarette at the mouth.

Normal clothes: Jeans, baby blue tshirt, blue stripped long sleeve shirt, brown felt hat and a shell necklace with a cigarette at the mouth.

Formal clothes: Khaki pants (olive, beige, navy) with a sweater and a cigarette in the mouth. Or black dress pants, black and white pin stripped shirt, silver/blue tie, black jacket with a cigarette in the mouth.

When i'm being lazy, slippers, brown felt hat, boxers, wifer beater, with a cigarette in the mouth.

It doesn't matter what i dress in, i seem to always look like a cowboy.

Mirai Gen 11-30-2006 02:49 AM

If I have a T-shirt, it has to say something or have a logo on it.

For exampl-ay. I have a Monty Python "It's just a flesh wound!" shirt, the Church of Optimus Prime, a Superman shirt (I dunno why, but it's black and silver), and the like. I am ready to buy "ROBOTS IN DISGUISE" when christmas is over.

The rest of my shirts? Floral button ups and jeans. Tommy Vercetti style, baby.

Where'd I put my chainsaw?

Muffin Mage 11-30-2006 03:07 AM

Without fail, I wear t-shirts and shorts. And also, my collection of the shrunken heads of people who think that what they wear constitutes a "style."

For formal occasions, I've got my pick of a tux or a pinstripe suit. Ties are mediocre, but I've got a badass bari sax tie pin, so it's all good.

Gascmark de Leone 12-21-2006 12:30 PM

I wear a blue coat just about everyday. Doesn't matter if it's cold or not. I just wear it.

batgirl 12-21-2006 08:49 PM

Lazy Days: Sweatpants, t-shirt

Normal: Jeans or corduroys, t-shirt or long sleeved shirt of some kind, running shoes, short socks, ring my mom gave me. If it's cold I'll throw a sweatshirt or a zipup on.

Formal: Business suit or skirt with a blazer/blouse and heels.

Lady Cygnet 12-21-2006 10:07 PM

Casual: Black pants, shell or t-shirt (usually a shade green, blue, or purple), black parka or navy winter coat, black leather moccasins or leather sandals, sometimes necklace and earrings, hair usually pulled back in a ponytail

Formal/Business: Black and ivory suitdress or other formal-looking dress, pantyhose, black chunk heels, necklace and stud earrings, full makeup, hair in a more formal style (it's waist-length, so I have to make it behave when the occasion calls for it)

Nique 12-23-2006 04:54 AM

This thread would be much more effective in the form of a camwhore sub-category.

I wear distressed Tees with mosimo blazers and black & white converse shoes!

Funka Genocide 12-23-2006 04:11 PM

Though I have shopped in Harajuku and Ginza, I find that Japanese fashion is meant for... smaller persons. Being quite American in my build with the broad shoulders and all that I find that I can't pull off the wildest of styles. I try to throw in a little panache with the classical button down American look however.

I tend to define my style by the designers I wear, none of which are too expensive (mostly because I am poor). I tend to identify more with a an East Coast or New York aesthetic, Keeneth Cole is a particular favorite of mine.

I typically won't go below a level of "dress casual." I wear a nice pair of straight leg jeans, a dress shirt of some sort and if the weather permits a funky blazer of some sort, nothing ovelry sophisticated.

At the heights of my fashion conceit I'll wear a tailored suit with shined oxford shoes, french cuffs with cufflinks and the most expensive watch I can get my hands on. I prefer darker hues like blues and greys. I like to wear ties but ina sort of nonchalante, half off way. A single windsor not not quite done up to the top with the top button undone says, "I could dress just like a wallstreet exec, but why?" while a double windsor done all the way up is for more formal occassions (moslty when I have to impress old people.)

I tend to be very experimental with fashion though, and I've worn some off the wall things. Mostly consisting of multihued patterned shirts. I won't typically wear a t-shirt in public unless I really don't care what I look like that day, for instance going to the supermarket or the bank.

basically I'm a fashion whore. :B

h4x.m4g3 12-25-2006 11:55 PM

A button up shirt, always. Sometimes plain black, sometimes a design, sometimes hawaiin.
Dark dress pants or cargo pants, belt with NES Controller buckle.
My brown work boots and white socks.
And my black long coat duster to go over the whole thing.

Brainmeats 12-26-2006 12:14 AM

Yeah so I'm a t-shirt and jeans girl~which works great in the south cause its never too cold for a tshirt.... just throw a hoodie on while you're outside and you're fine~
Dresspants and a more girly top if I need to look nice
I'll wear dresses/skirts to church and funerals... otherwise I'd rather not.

J-Watt 12-29-2006 06:26 AM

My style is to wear something clean and comfortable that matches.

In the winter, that means I wear a t-shirt under some manner of long-sleeved shirt or sweater with blue jeans and New Balance tennis shoes (I wear New Balance more out of neccessity than fashion, since they are the only shoes I can buy in a store because of my fucked up feet).

In Summer, I don't wear the long sleeved shirt or sweater.

Gee, I'm exciting.

Demetrius 12-29-2006 03:18 PM

I just found my fitted Metallica hat that has been missing for like 7 months!! Add that to my ensamble anywhere hats are remotely appropriate.
