Is it worth saving?

EVERYBODY in this entire world, which the LWs are supposedly trying to save, is either crooked, stupid, or plain evil.

The King and his daughter are both evil.
The elves hate, capture and kill outsiders, including Ogres, which means they're about as bad as any other monster, and they steal and horde money.
Dwarves are all idiots who wouldn't know which way was up without looking at their beards.
All the people are stupid, helpless morons. I mean, civilization as it is known, is filled with people who repeat the same thing, repeat irrelevancies, annoy other people- The coolest civilians were the Old Folks, and they ate electric death so there's no point in saving them.

Oh, random encounters. Crooked shop dealers. Akbar. The guy who simply doesn't lie about the quality of his flying death traps.

Even Sarda is basically evil, and it seems like his entire mission isn't to be of help but to use the LWs to save himself and get involved as little as possible.

Matoya. Horny bahamut. Barry and his stupid gang. The occult squidfaces.
Bleah!

I think that Black Mage is the only true Light Warrior, working for the cause of greatest good: To annihilate everybody and everything.

Nihilism, huh? Well, i'm fairly sure the world's worth saving, because watching BM writhe is fun.

But much of the evil seen, especially the stupidity is seen in every RPG. People repeat sentences over and over, leave all the hard work to 4 strangers, and despite you being on a mission to save the damned world from destruction will still charge you for weapons. Weapons, that if they had passed to every able villager would certainly have allowed them to defeat the monsters they're too lazy to kill themselves.

As far as we know, their stupidity is all Chaos's doing in the first place, given the whole time travel thing. I mean, Chaos in 8bit could actually be just some jerk who went back in time and started poking the primordial soup while Sarda watched.

But the best reason for why BM shouldn't kill everybody is the fact that once BM kills everyone, there will be no one left to kill and BM's existence will be meaningless.

Signature'd.
Why are they saving the world...
Thief. I dunno, money or something?
Red Mage. Probably 'cause with no world, there's no experience, and this is a damn good quest.
Black Mage. ...no comment.
Fighter. Hell if he even knows what he's doing. Just wants to be a light warrior.

Where has it been said that defeating chaos will save the world?

You are only assuming that they follow the storyline completely to ff1, but if that was the case, why are there chocobos?

Heck, stopping "chaos" might actually doom the world rather than saving it.

Thats the logic that 8bit does follow.

Stop lying. There is no logic at all whatsoever in 8Bit and saying anything else DEMEANS everything Mr.Clevinger has tried to (un)establish!

To be honest, Clevinger's 8BT world doesn't strike me as being all that different from the real world that you and, presumably, I live in. People are by and large stupid, selfish, hostile, greedy, racist, cowardly, complacent, and stupid. Did I miss anything? Oh yes. Stupid.

And yet, if the world was in peril, you'd better believe that we'd saddle four guys with the problem, consider it solved, have a pint, and wait for this whole thing to blow over. And, I would imagine, those four guys would either be really into saving this filthy, spinning hunk of rock or just use the opportunity to fatten the wallets of their oil company buddies.

My point is what were we talking about again?

Ever have one of those moments where you write something, and then get what at least seems like a fairly insulting response that really doesn't appear to relate at all to what you were saying? So, you're looking back and forth between your post and this odd response over and over trying figure out what one has to do with the other. And there's really not anything nice you can say in return, because you don't really have any desire to seem insulting and devolve everything into some nasty flame war, but you are honestly so perplexed that you have to address the issue, but you're so stunned that you just can't think of anything to say.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, "What?"

You have 930 posts to his meager 41. Claim age and experience superiority, get all your forum friends together, and bash (flame) his brains out because you can.
